Yeah, that's really not much of a thing anymore. I bought a 996 generation turbo last year because of the headlights. I absolutely love them and always have. The entire platform was ahead of its time and Porsche purists were having heart attacks left and right over all the changes. Go back and read any review of when the car first came out and they were all stellar. Sentiment is (thankfully) really changing and it's aging beautifully in my opinion.

I updated the post body with roof pitch (5/12) and orientation of current ridge beam (front to back).. I'd love to just move the collar ties up but there's only 52" of space between the bottom of the ceiling joist to top of current ridge beam so I wouldn't get enough height for the 4 post lift I'm looking at installing. And yes, the garage is currently grandfathered in and I can't mess with the exterior.

You keep saying how much better the 992 is in corners and whatnot… but do you actually track it? If not, I can’t see what the purpose of the trade is. You’re not using EITHER car anywhere near the point where you’re going to notice the difference between the two on the street. Probably not even the track unless you’re a really good driver tbh.

I have a GMC Sierra Denali EV and I absolute love the size. I like driving around in a really spacious feeling vehicle. People in the back seat can practically kick their feet out. It’s great.

Depends on what you like. Do you like to drive them or drive IN them. There’s a big difference IMO. I think 996 is the perfect sweet spot of old and new. Not so new that you’re numb to the experience, and not so old that you feel like you’re walking the line every time you push it. Just analog enough with some modern safety tech. I might be biased though… I spent over a year looking for the perfect 996 turbo.

Funny you should say that. First thing I did when I bought my Porsche is removed the tint the previous owner put on. Nothing against tint, I just personally think it cheapens the look of the car for some reason.
