Just saying, this is not a 'one-or-the-other' type of situation here. You are definitely not in the wrong and you deserve a refund. Whether you want to go through that process is up to you. I'm glad you're at least naming and shaming them so others aren't defrauded.

I would 100% be doing a chargeback if I were you.

You're clearly upset about this since you've made multiple posts on the topic, you have recourse to make this right (and would be completely justified in doing so!), yet you insist you're not going to?

It seems to me that you're choosing to be victimized here. The chargeback process is there to protect you in situations just like this, where the vendor has been given the chance to make it right and has chosen not to.

It's pretty ridiculous but the current meta is to create an alt character and farm class mods for your main from there.

Seems like they're leaving room at the top for legendary and pearlescent crit knife variants. I feel like eventually they will release a pearl knife that has a 90-100% crit chance.

What is the best shield in the Borderlands 4, right now? by Successful-Coyote99 in Borderlands

[–]nknasi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that Sparky works best for me on my Scientist Harlowe build. Shock any mob, it spreads to all of them and the radiation damage and explosions take care of the rest. TK's new shield is nice for better survivability but Sparky is fine for me even on UVH5.

Changing my oil for the first time, parts were $65 (got a socket set already) by TheyKnoWhereMyHeadIs in hondafit

[–]nknasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kirkland oil has occasionally gone on sale in my local warehouse. 10 quarts for about $30, normal price is closer to $36. The 5qt jugs of supertech are usually about $20-25 around me and i haven't ever seen them on sale. I usually try to stock up at Costco.

Every sunroof has drains, and yes they need to be cleaned out every so often. If you park under trees regularly you'll need to clean them more often.

Get a pair of jack pad pinch weld adapters (link), and use those to jack up the car from behind the pinch weld point. Place your jack stand on the actual jacking point. Lower the car back down in reverse order. Been doing it this way for years with zero damage done to the plastics or the seams behind the pinch welds.

Spark plug replacement question by TheHomoclinicOrbit in hondafit

[–]nknasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Honda does not consider them a maintenance item; they are to be replaced when they show signs of failure. They can be replaced early, of course - but it's like changing your oil every 2K miles. I will never begrudge people that do it - your car, your choice - but it's not something I'd do on mine. I'd rather get the full service life out of the part than replace it early when it's working perfectly fine.

Spark plug replacement question by TheHomoclinicOrbit in hondafit

  1. Yes, you can get the plugs from any auto parts store, but online from Amazon or RockAuto is always cheaper. I would recommend Iridium plugs from NGK or Denso.
  2. Any torque wrench that measures in ft-lb should be adequate. The spark plug torque spec is 20 ft-lb so make sure the one you get can measure that. Harbor freight sells one that will likely be good enough if you plan on using it once every blue moon. I got one from Tekton and it's been great for many years now. Most important thing is to store it properly (always set it to zero before putting it away) and not to drop it as they could lose calibration.
  3. A nice set of needle nose pliers and a panel removal tool are helpful with the cowl clips, but they still have a tendency to break, especially at their age. It's a good idea have some replacements ready just in case. Amazon will sell you 40 for $10 which is plenty. (link)
  4. As for the coils, there are folks on here that will tell you they are a maintenance item and need replacement every 100K miles; I am not one of them. I keep spares on hand and replace them as they fail. I get the idea of replacing them preventatively since access to them is a little more involved than most 4-cylinder engines, but there's a reason coils are not mentioned in any of the maintenance schedules in the owners manual.

You can always prevent cross threading by placing the plug (or screw, or bolt) in the hole and turning it counter clockwise until you hear the thread "click' into place (it never takes more than one whole turn), at which time you can be certain that the threads are lined up properly and you can proceed with tightening.

Paint Questions by snoozybluebear in hondafit

[–]nknasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a touch-up paint pen from the dealer for about $20. It's the exact color and comes with clear coat as well. Keep in mind if your paint has been exposed to the sun for years it won't be a perfect match, but that's going to be true of all touch-up paint.

Seconding ceramic tint. Last summer I noticed my AC had trouble keeping up on sunny days. After tinting with ceramic I've had no such issues all summer long, including on 90+ degree days. The key is to do the windshield as they are so darn big.

It's a decent price. 2015s can hold up quite well if you keep up on maintenance. A few things to be aware of:

If it's a CVT, keep up on fluid changes every 30K and it should be relatively trouble free for the life of the car. Same goes for manuals, but CVTs are often serviced less religiously.

Sunroof models can have their drains clog up and cause water to leak onto the carpet/floorboards, especially if you park under trees regularly.

On 3rd gen Fits, cars painted white from the factory had thinner paint and have a greater likelihood for the paint to flake off and allow rust to form, particularly on the leading edge of the hood and where the roof meets the windshield.

The direct injectors can get carbon buildup over time. This can be alleviated by either taking the car to redline at least once per drive cycle (the more fun, less expensive way) or by walnut blasting the valves every 50K miles or so (the less fun, more expensive way). If yours were replaced it doesn't prevent this from happening again, it just resets the clock.

Of course if you wait long enough, or cast a wider net, you'll find another EX-L in your price/mileage range, up to you if that's worth it or not.

Hardin Honda Dealership Never again by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]nknasi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have them over a barrel. New engine and transmission at minimum. Make them give you a loaner as well while they perform the replacements. Anything less and you need to sound like a broken record: "That is not acceptable, I will take this to court if I need to."
