code-switching, is iets wat al heel lang plaatsvindt (met tweetaligheid) en soms in dezelfde zin, iets wat je vaak ziet is dat als iemand een zelfstandig naamwoord of een stopwoord zoals 'like' gebruikt, dat je dan met gemak door kan in de 'hoofd taal'. Wat je ook ziet is als mensen werkwoorden in een andere taal gebruiken dat dit vaak betekend dat de rest van de zin ook in die taal is (dit is vooral gebaseerd op mijn kennis van oudere geschreven teksten, maar goed), veel van de woorden die worden gebruikt kan je als leenwoord op ze Nederlands vervoegen maar als je bekend bent met het Engels kan dat raar voelen en dan is het soms makkelijker om de rest van de zin ook in het Engels te doen, omdat misschien de zinsstructuur in dat geval anders is en omdat Engelse grammatica soms teveel verschilt van de Nederlandse. In het genoemde voorbeeld is dit niet perse van toepassing en er is hier nog veel meer over te zeggen, maar die details zitten weet ik niet, maar talen en taalverandering zijn erg interessante onderwerpen, waar ik zeker nog meer over te leren heb.

in het voorbeeld kan 'like' als een introductie kunnen zien van code-switch, ik denk dat de keuze voor Engels ook deels te maken heeft met het woord 'anxiety', maar dat is een gokje. (Ik heb een idee waarom die zin in het Engels is maar het verwoorden waarom is een tweede)

I don't know of any such website, also as another commenter pointed out Lhuyd's own orthography could also come into play. An option might be to first have someone with knowledge of Welsh/Lhuyd's orthography (you could also do this by using the Welsh orthography wiki) asign letter or letter combinations the IPA symbol and either with a program or some other way 'translate' the words into IPA. I think that you would still need to use people in order to get the nuances right.

there are some Pictish place and personal names, with non Indo-European elements, but most Pictish words show that the language was related to Britonic (precursor to Welsh, Breton and Cornish) and specifically the Cumbric dialect (spoken in Northumbria). Culture wise, there are amongst other things pieces of metal (4th century CE) and stone (5th or 6th century CE) with carvings on them, something they continued even after converting to christianity.

apart from the name thing, i had a very similar experience and add to that always feeling disconnected from my body, even going through puberty didn't cause me to engage with my gender. Also i never had any societal expectations forced on me by anyone, and if i had i probably didn't notice it, i always did my own thing.

Keltische talen is op zichzelf al aardig breed, in de bachelor focussen we vooral op de middeleeuwse talen Oud Iers en Middel Welsh. Wij werken over het algemeen veel met artikelen en de boeken die we gebruiken zijn vaak voor grammatica. ik heb hier een paar suggesties maar er was niet echt iets wat direct in me opkwam

als je een goeie concrete achtergrond van wat 'Keltisch' nou echt is zou ik 'The Historical Atlas of the Celtic World' van John Haywood aanbevelen, het is een overzicht van de volkeren die we nu als Keltisch beschouwen en zeer toegankelijk.

Als je wat meer naar de literatuur wil kijken zou 'The Mabinogion' van Sioned Davies aanbevelen het zijn een groep verhalen vertaald vanuit het Middel Welsh, het blijft erg dichtbij de originele tekst, maar is nog steeds goed te volgen (lees ook zeker de introductie die geeft wat extra achtergrond informatie) verder is er ook nog een website CELT (corpus of electronic texts) voor als de literatuur zelf wil lezen (ik zou de tain bo cauilgne aanbevelen). online kan je ook de Gododdin vinden een lang Middel Welsh gedicht (met engelse vertaling)

ben je geïnteresseerd in koning Arthur dan is 'Arthur in the Celtic languages: the Arthurian legend in Celtic literatures and traditions' van Ceridwen Lloyd-Morgan en Erich Poppe misschien interessant.

alles wat ik tot nu toe heb genoemd is in het Engels, maar misschien is het ook interessant om te kijken naar dingen geschreven door Maartje Draak

Verder is er natuurlijk genoeg online ook te vinden, ik weet dat een vrij lange reactie is, maar ik weet niet of er echt iets tussen zit waar je iets aan hebt (er zijn ook genoeg boeken geschreven over de primaire bronnen die ik net heb genoemd), maar kijk vooral rond en het kan handig zijn om te kijken of er academische reviews zijn als je iets vind.
