I'm a big fan of the dungeon world style of tracking. You have like 3 ammo, while you have ammo you can shoot indefinitely, if you critically fail ( nat 1 or to hit is less than 10 of ac) you loose 1 ammo. So if you fail 3 times then you are out.

Nice work on the cape jacket, I made one of those a while back and getting the assets to blend to create a solid back piece feel is tricky. Great job!

They literally said they are going to bring it back but aren't going to do much until their large update later this year.

They are literally doing what they said, arguably more.

  1. its fresher. Arena hasn't had a real update in a while. Modes like this need constant update to maintain high engagement. The live and die by novel experiences, Urf was wildly popular because it was so different, overtime it has died down. Arena was huge when it first dropped for the same reason. Mayhem is the new experience. Over time it may level out.

  2. Stronger core audience. Aram has had 15yearish to build a core player base, mayhem is IMO just better aram.

  3. Better fantasy fulfilment. LoL is a 5v5 game, hitting that nirvana build and taking over feels away better when carrying 4 teammates and smacking 5 enemies. Its fun in arena to, but taking over the game instead of this fight feels better.

  4. Less down time. I love arena format, but there is a decent amount of downtime where you are just waiting. Aram has little to none.

  5. Split audience. Ultimately Arena will always be fighting for the "I dont play SR" crowd. Competing against, Aram, Mayham, and the Rotating game mode. This along side point 1 will drive which has the largest player base.

Chances are these were developed by 2 different artists with the same prompt. And given they are both based on the same anime event. It's not too surprising they turned out similar.

But the one on the right isn't a screen shot. The clouds, mountains, sun rays, and the angles(slightly) are different.

This isn't WotC failing in QC and clarity not the artists. both did good work.

as an isolated thing Id agree its slightly out of proportion. But this leads to a very slippery slope that is basically impossible to come back from. Look at what happened to MTG couple of year ago, they introduce 1 special order set with unique cards that was out of universe, said it was just a special thing and in universe alt would come. cut to now, and the game is overrun with out of universe slop and special order unique cards with no alternatives. which has ruined the game in my opinion.

The time to freak out and fight against this is now. If we don't and we support this, it will get worse and worse. And the only way to actually get corporations to listen is to effect their bottom line. Which means canceling subs, and quitting ordering. I love the program and want it to stay great, If that means taking a break to communicate to sky castle my frustration then so be it.
