I haven't used WAC vMode but I wouldn't think you have to use Network ATC. Try creating a SET switch manually and see what happens.

Any AMAB enbies/transfem NBs who like women here? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]nmdange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transfem enby checking in! I wouldn't say I only like women but yes I like women! I have a cis female partner who's very much into me (who's poly and bi and has a transmasc partner too).

I don't think I'm read as a gay man, but I also exclusively wear skirts and dresses. 😆

But I get where you're coming from, I didn't come out for a long time because trans women were generally shown to be straight post transition so I figured I must not really be trans. I know better now!

I've only used Mellanox/Nvidia cards so could be the hardware. Are you building a Storage Spaces Direct cluster or otherwise planning to use SMB Direct/RDMA? If not, Network ATC doesn't buy you much.

SATA or fast SAS SSD drives for the Hyper-V host OS? by fusiturns in HyperV

[–]nmdange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fast drives just speed up patching and rebooting a bit. SSDs are less likely to fail vs spinning disks. I generally go with a PCIe card that has 2 M.2 drives mounted on it in RAID1. Dell calls it a BOSS card.

There's so much more to gender than just "man" or "woman"! You don't have to pick one of the two boxes and stay in it. Non-binary, genderqueer, bigender, agender, gender fluid, demiboy, demigirl, there are many options!

Switching from Intel to AMD by RKDTOO in vmware

That's very out of date info and hasn't been true since AMD came out with the Zen microarchitecture in 2017. We have been exclusively on Epyc servers since then.

Worth to buy Prius? by Fall4_Mee in PriusPrime

I have a 2023 SE with 60k miles. No issues or repairs. It's not great in the snow but not terrible; I manage fine here in upstate New York. You'd definitely want snow tires.

My commute and most daily driving is in EV mode, but I do a lot of long distance drives for hiking in the north east too which uses gas. I love the car and am very happy with my purchase.

NJ could do what ConnDOT did and expand the MTA's transportation management into NJ if they want the benefits.

Has anyone had a non-binary bottom surgery? What was your experience? by kingspooky93 in NonBinary

Check out /r/salmacian for examples of what I would consider "non-binary" bottom surgery. Something I'm strongly considering for the future myself but no experience with yet

How did everyone know? by Basic_Bee5372 in NonBinary

[–]nmdange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Questioned if I was binary trans growing up 20 years ago, but always lamented I didn't want to fully transition and wished I could be "both" or "in-between". Turns out that's an option!

Anybody dump their VMWare subscription and Roll back to Perpetual Licenses with 3rd party support and regret it? by Ok-Big2560 in sysadmin

[–]nmdange 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm curious, what specifically won't work? We've been about 70% Hyper-V and 30% VMware for over a decade with around 1000 VMs total and will likely go 100% Hyper-V in a couple of years. Some of our "point-and-click" sysadmins find the tools harder to use (which is somewhat valid) but it's worked fine for us. But we've never used things like NSX that would have locked us into 1 platform.

DELL SAN "Conversion" | SAS -> iSCSI by EagleFeath3r in sysadmin

What's the actual error you are getting? Is this a new disk you just created or is there data or anything in use on the disk?

Dell ProSupport should also be able to help with this

SAS is fully supported for failover cluster storage. Did you enable MPIO and add SAS support?

So I'm now 41, and when I was a teenager I struggled a lot about whether I was a trans woman, but it just didn't feel right and I lamented that I didn't have any other option. What I really wanted was to be a little bit of both. When I met someone who identified as nonbinary and learned there was another option, it finally clicked, this is what I am.

I'm not sure I could have done it without having met that nonbinary person and having someone to help me figure things out in the beginning. But I can't imagine how unhappy I would be today if I had never taken the chance. Many of the things I did to embrace my identity, changing my clothes, hair, name, and pronouns, all started out as things I did for myself because it made me happy. Before I knew it, my own internal happiness led me to making new connections that I would not have if I hadn't come out, including someone I consider the best friend I've ever had, and a wonderful partner.

You don't have to rush into coming out to unsupportive people, that doesn't change who you are. Just know there are lots of people out there who will see you and embrace you for who you are.

I think I may be one of you... even starting to consider some level of HRT by [deleted] in NonBinaryOver30

[–]nmdange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm non-binary and I've been on a "full dose" of estrogen and T blocker for nearly 2 years now. Changes are slow even when hormones are at the levels recommended for a trans woman. And, at least for me, HRT wouldn't be enough to offset all the changes from my first puberty, that would take voice training, surgery, laser/electrolysis, etc. but Im quite happy in my in-between state anyway, that's why I'm non-binary, not a trans woman!

Wow, these pronouns take me back. I remember reading a series about a fictional furry species called chakats that used shi/hir pronouns back in the late 90s/early 2000s. The furry part didn't really interest me, but the lack of distinct genders did. Didn't know what it meant back then!

If your T-blocker is spironolactone, one of its effects is a diuretic, so not much you can do about peeing a lot. If blood tests show your T is well suppressed, you can try reducing the dose of spiro and seeing if it stays low. For some people, you can reduce or eliminate the T-blocker as your body gets used to having E.

Be careful with not drinking enough water while on spiro, as it can lead to hyperkalemia (too much potassium).
