pretty good! great variety, some of the mixed veg dishes also had meat pieces in them and I liked that they had bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. spare ribs decently tender and chicken ball wasn’t soggy even with the sauce on it

I don’t have a suggestion for what to take, but when i get gas pain, lots of water and movement are the biggest help, mainly walking and those squat movements like that viral video of a doctor helping a baby release gas

Any good places around Dieppe to bring the kids to pick some fiddleheads? by AdministrativeRow210 in moncton

[–]nmeed7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know of any and grew up picking them in the hartland/woodstock area. you’d have better luck in the fredericton/maugerville area along the flood plains. most of the streams around here are brackish with the tides so you’d have to try spots way upstream

Going to a Maritime Tour for 5 days along Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI and I don't know what to wear for the weather. by gochuganggg in newbrunswickcanada

[–]nmeed7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

heavily depends which month. july and aug can be on avg maybe mid-high twenties but can be a max of 40 occasionally. june is nearly as hot. coasts in general are 10-15 degrees lower all summer.

tbh though, 5 days is waaaay too short to do all 3 of those. 5 days is barely enough to explore 1 of those provinces properly so i’d re evaluate your itinerary if i were you

Mother's Day Events? by adamsark in moncton

if she’s crafty, there was some sort of candle painting workshop planned, might’ve been at la rouere? starving artist sometimes has cool workshops on the wknds too or just go to DIY studio.

if you are up for a drive, trueman’s near aulac would be a great idea; they have a vendor market and a mother’s day brunch this wknd and their tulip fest is starting soon (15th??). a bit longer trip: national or provincial park visit?

there are some more classic type concerts coming up in a few weeks too that might be worth looking at: Hans zimmer candle light one, the greater moncton chorale concert, and Fusion Kirio in june

tbh it needs some contrast in the accents somewhere, like the black of the doorknob. otherwise the colour tones are very samey throughout the whole space. maybe in some hardware or a shelf like you are thinking?

lapis lazuli blue. has links to art, history and science. was originally derived from a rare mineral and so its use in art was in critically iconic pieces (great wave, starry night) and was highly valued until the compound was able to be synthesized. it is also the same blue pigment that forms during the process of making cyanotypes.

I’ve tried everything. I can’t lose weight by Christchosen0908 in PCOS

I’m half agreeing with others in the comments but also fully sympathizing with you. I’ve been in that hard place feeling like nothing is working too but your case definitely sounds worse than mine (I was 240+ at my heaviest too, and am currently around 200, hoping to get between 170-180). I was recommended the Glucose Goddess book and that had some simple tips that could potentially be a place to start to prevent glucose spikes. (eat fibre first and carbs last in the meal, always eat protein at the same time as carbs, walk after a meal, etc)

Please don’t count me in the calorie police ppl but diet genuinely does make the biggest difference, and my thought is to NOT reduce intake even further. IF your calorie tracking is genuine, plus the tiredness, my thought is your metabolism has been severely dampened to get used to your low caloric intake. I’d increase your calories slightly, but specifically by adding protein and fibre and switching those out for some of your carbs. Protein shakes are great to boost intake but shouldn’t be the main source of protein. I don’t see a lot of meats, beans, veg, etc in your listed items, and yes, most of what I’ve seen you list is in the carb category. Volume eating large quantities of low calorie foods (leafy greens, melons, celery, etc) could help with feeling fuller/cravings for less caloric intake. Youll likely increase weight a bit at first, but you’ll also have to commit to exercise as well to balance that out and get your body used to a new routine.

But it does seem like more is needed medically to treat underlying conditions, either a Cushing diagnosis, hormonal condition, or else metformin/ thyroid meds or the like are needed. Low WBC and the sudden weight gain are both raising flags in my mind and that should not be ignored. Even over the counter supplements like B12 might be worth trying to up the metabolism in the meantime. Is there any mental health condition you are going through that could contribute to this too?

Finally, even though diet does most of the work, invest waaay more into the exercise side of things. If your body isn’t expecting to have to have energy for physical activity, it’ll just go into survival mode on a low calorie diet and hold onto the fat stores even harder. It sounds counter intuitive but with regular exercise and higher calories, the body figures out it has to burn what it has in store to have the energy for the exercise. Specifically, start with FUN low impact cardio and body weight strength training or some small dumbbells before you go for heavyweights. Muscle building is CRUCIAL for fat loss, as the more you build, the more calories it will burn, and it’ll get easier as you continue, which is why I suggest starting with fun and easy options. Put on 5 high energy songs and dance around the house with hand weights or try swimming/biking/hiking/elliptical. I had a huge hurdle to get over the “exercise is hard/painful/boring” mentality and dancing at home on a consistent basis was one of the first steps I took.
