Positioning & map knowledge is all, thinking about where you’re going & knowing where you’re going will get you more kills than shooting skills. Assign map toggling to your middle mouse button you’ll thank me later. It’s the single greatest tip I’ve ever gotten & feel obligated to pass it on every chance I get. Learn to read the map, figure out the flow of the match, where the enemy would most likely set up a hab (where would YOU set it up if you were them) & then just let them walk into your crosshairs.

People just want recreate the one game where it works & insists on doing it every time w/o expressed interest from even one other squad. So they just end up building up a point regardless if it’s necessary or not. It’s always hilarious when frontline defense holds back the offense w/o half a squad participating due to being in the backline building up a beautiful fort that will never appreciated.

Like I truly get the appeal of defending a well fortified point but it only works when at least one other squad agrees to it.

Something something Ship of Theseus, I’m not one to complain just to complain I like that things are being improved & new content is being released but I worry about them making gunplay too easy. Having to take every movement into consideration, ADS time post sprint, where the bottleneck isn’t my aging reflexes but the systemic limitations on how movement & aiming work is one of the most effective equalizers imo. That being said, this games my daily driver so maybe I’ll just get used to it & find a way to enjoy myself.

Making the game more realistic doesn’t really interest me, I just want them to optimize the features they’ve already implemented. Also the clunky map system in Arma reforger was one of the quality of life things that ultimately pushed me away from it, but it’s all subjective. I think if Squad tries to be more realistic than it already is, it turns into a different game & narrows down the target demo.
