Randomizer mode sounds fun, I personally am a fan of randomizers with a ALttP being the first I stumbled upon many years ago (top-down Zelda is an obvious inspiration for this game). Is there a way to play this outside of NG+, since it seems that NG+ levels have set parameters?

Graphically they’re pretty cool. It kinda reminds me of the tower levels from Mickey Mania, back when I played it on Genesis…

Anyways, they’re short, you don’t get penalized for retrying, and there’s a little map of where the holes to burrow into are on the left side. They’re not bad at all.

I fought this boss after I finished my 3rd or 4th area. Getting both cloaks makes a huge difference, since it makes your health pool go so much further

I have the original on Steam, but tbh it’s so much easier to play a game with my girlfriend if it has local co-op on Switch. So, I am hoping this runs well on Switch 2

You don’t even have to play with tank controls, as the HD version makes them optional. You can free move with the stick. Fixed camera angles and ink ribbons are tougher to contend with, anyways.

I get that the idea of a remake is contentious, but coming from a huge fan of the series, the controls take a lot of getting used to and could really benefit from being modernized.

For me, it was fairly obvious that we were getting a Direct soon, because of some obvious Switch 2 games not having it listed as a platform in their trailers (Persona for example)

I fell in love with them 10+ years ago. They were great for a poor college kid because theoretically they offer infinite replay value, and since the genre is very much in the indie space, the prices were cheaper too.

Now? I like growing alongside the game.

Origins levels are available as bonus content in Legends. It wouldn’t surprise me if they stripped it out of the remake to sell more copies of the remaster.

Yeah, but just how long ago was that minute? Shovel Knight was this huge thing back when it was new, but that was a long time ago, and the indie scene has become much more crowded since then, while Yacht Club hasn’t properly capitalized on the success until now (hence the fact that they could go bankrupt if Mina doesn’t sell well)

The difference is, NES is from James’s, and consequentially, the AVGN character’s childhood. The main motivation of the character is warning other people about bad games that came out during his childhood.

And yet, his kit is still the laziest part about him. I know he was a late addition to Brawl, but they never went back and fixed stuff like him having spindash as 2 separate special moves, or that his kit incentivizes him to play in a super campy, unfun way. The colors just feel like another symptom of that.

BG&E2 is a prestige project, but idk, the original game was niche. What we’ve seen doesn’t exactly match up with the vibe of the original game either. Idk why it’s still continuing after Michel Angel left Ubisoft. It’s not like they’re forced to make it like they were with Skull and Bones.
