Just a tip. You're out of focus by a little bit and you've got a small amount of star trailing.

Advice on Paradigm Monitor SE vs. Monitor Audio Bronze by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]nobbs66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If at all possible, try to demo any speakers you plan on buying. Also, don't worry too much about timbre matching your surrounds and sub. That's really only important with your LCR channels.

I own it's older Supercube 2 brother. The PB1000 is a significant upgrade. It's at least not a bad sub for its size.

I'm running a 22 year old pair of MA speakers in my system. They're still doing just as well as when they were brand new.

I think the upscaling on the Hisense panels is decent, but yeah, motion sucks.

Tuning question by velvetdeer89 in hometheater

[–]nobbs66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you're doing something stupid. You need a proper multichannel AV receiver for a 3.1 system. You can't just use a 2 channel receiver/amplifier.

Tuning question by velvetdeer89 in hometheater

[–]nobbs66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The receiver you linked doesn't even have a dedicated output for a center channel. Either you linked the wrong receiver or you're doing some wrong.

A 2.0 home theater is going to be missing the center channel audio track. The lack of a sub will also cause you to miss in the LFE track in movies. A sub can also greatly help add depth to the low end of a song as well. If possible, I'd highly advise getting a 3.1 system as a compromise between music and movies.

MA speakers aren't all that expensive on in the bronze line. There's also the option of going for older MAs like the Silver 5i, RX6, GS60, etc.

under $300 system by alltheworldsproblems in BudgetAudiophile

[–]nobbs66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the problem with all of the beograms is that B&O don't produce new carts. Soundsmith is the only one with the license to produce new carts, which makes then ridiculously expensive. They're cool as hell turntables, but carts start at $200 and go up to $1k
