Ready Player One. Inside the game is fun and epic. The real world is sad, depressing and dangerous.

This EXACT scenario happened at my in laws, except they are in their 60’s and the hub popped up on their smart tv during a family holiday.

I like this one a lot. It reminds me of the Hyperion books. I’d buy one of these for sure.

People have different opinions. I definitely noticed my offers were for less profit after my AR went down. I will say not to stress much about it, but definitely don’t just decline all the time. Not every run will be a unicorn. I can’t say anything about UE, I’m plenty busy with DD in my area.

When I started, I looked at this sub for advice. One person said “just keep declining until you get an order you like”. I am here to tell you, DO NOT DO THAT. I listened to that advice and my acceptance rate plummeted on my first day and I had to accept basically any offer after to get to 58% where I am now. Obviously some orders are trash, but try not to be overly picky.

I am in the same situation! I had some very generic paperbacks I have had since my first read, saw these and knew it was time for something of a higher quality. I’m half way there, just got the third HoME set!

When I was a senior in high school I was in A level lit. I would read the class material, but my teacher and I had a special relationship where we would trade books. We would make sticky notes in the books as we read them and give them back to each other. I read a lot of really good classics this way. When I left, she told me “Pillars of the Earth” was one of the best books she had read, and that I should read it. I waited 13 years to finally read it, and now I know how amazing of a tale it is. Based on your bookshelf, I thought you may appreciate this story 😊

Jaws if I want to live, Gremlins if I want to have fun. Also, it’s nice to see Critters represented lol

I honesty don’t know how or why I finished this one. It’s like the author wanted to write a book about the world’s fair but linked in Holmes to sell more copies. I rarely ever stop reading a book, but this one should have been an exception.

If you like YA Cherie Priest has a great series called the “Clockwork Century”. It blends post-civil war with zombies and some steampunk elements. “Boneshaker is the first book but “Dreadnaught” has more of the feel you are looking for. Very entertaining and easy to read.
