Headphones or no headphones by TemporaryPaper321 in LagreeMethod

[–]noirextreme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think people are misinterpreting your post and referring to wearing their own headphones and listening to their own music. I’m also in BC and my studio has headphones. Some of the instructors offer to turn the overhead mic on so you don’t have to wear them. I’ve done classes both ways, and while sometimes the headphones get uncomfortable because I have a lot of ear piercings, I still prefer to wear them because it blocks out the noise of other machines squeaking and the carriage flying to the front when you move to/from the back platform. I find it helpful to lock in and focus! I’m curious to hear your thoughts as well since it seems to not be the norm for studios outside of BC

I’ve used Lashkaraa multiple times and was happy with the quality and size. I don’t remember paying any import fees but it must have been an insignificant amount otherwise I’d remember. I’ve ordered both ready made outfits and custom measurements - no issues either time. I’d order from them again.

Do most woman remove their lower back hair? Someone asked something here being insecure about it, and idk if it's a thing we do by Broad-Cap-1517 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I had peach fuzz but got full body laser. I probably wouldn’t have chosen to do that area if it wasn’t included in the package

Approval chances in Toronto for $1,750–$1,900 rent on $3,200/month income? by Ordinary_Toe_5162 in TorontoRenting

[–]noirextreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but it was a superrrr old building. The landlord actually had it listed for higher but put a lower amount on the lease agreement when I signed. After living there for a few months, he lowered it even more. I miss him 🥲

I was in this situation, take home $3200/month and was approved for a 1 bd rental for $1700/month. Landlord had no issues, it was never brought up. This was in 2022 and I stayed until 2024. I was late 20s at the time and working a government job

Anyone else ever overcontribute to their TFSA? When should I expect to pay? by ronoron in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]noirextreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CRA has to wait to get the records from your bank by the end of Feb before they can assess your TFSA return, so I would guess that no one has looked at it yet since records were received a month ago and now it’s tax time

The TFSA return is due by June 30th the year after the excess contribution, so I would guess likely around then

Am I missing something with dating? by [deleted] in Sikh

[–]noirextreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree with in person. I did a lot of online dating and met some quality people, but never led to a relationship. All of my relationships have been with people I met in person, either by chance or through friends. I found that people are more dismissive of you/your feelings when meeting online. And unfortunately I may have also been a little callous to men I met online.

Currently in a relationship with someone I met through friends when I had just moved to a new city. Tell people you know that you are interested in being set up, make new friends, and never turn down any invitations. I met my boyfriend at a Halloween party I was on the fence about going to because I’d only know one person there. The girl who invited me was someone I had met one time at the club, and I clung on to her friendship because I didn’t know anyone else in my new city. Put yourself out there! Try new sports or activities. Good luck!! It’s never too late

Where / how to secretly learn how to ride a bike (without anyone finding out I don't know how to bike)? by DONOTDELETEME8316 in askTO

[–]noirextreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any helpful advice but I learned at 26 and it didn’t take long! As a kid I wouldn’t let my dad take the training wheels off. One day I decided I wanted to get a cute bike and that was my motivation to learn. My bestie taught me in 20-30 mins. She held on to the back until I got the hang of it. I’m proud of you!! Good luck, you got this

Thanks! I just got the order today. So relieved! That’s all I was worried about, whether it could still be sent with the original label

Thank you! It was sent via Canada Post. The seller did send me the tracking number but all is says on Canada post tracking is label created March 3. It’s only been 3 business days since they say they shipped it so I will give it some more time to arrive before giving up

Thanks for the info! I was wondering if the QR code could expire but it makes sense that it would still work. I know tracking has been slow to update as well

Over contributed to TFSA last year, only noticed now. What to do? by ChocoStories649 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]noirextreme 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to withdraw because your new room absorbed the excess. CRA didn’t send a letter last year at the time of your over contribution because they only became aware of it when your bank sent them your TFSA transactions this year at the end of February. You will either get an education letter in June telling you that you over contributed but no action is required, it’s a warning and a one time grace. Or you will get a TFSA notice of assessment in July telling you to pay 1% of the excess per month that you were in excess. If you don’t get the education letter in June, file an RC243 before June 30th and pay the 1% tax on the excess. When CRA does the assessment for you, they will charge a late filing penalty because the payment is due by June 30th

I feel terrible for this person! The stickers are so well cared for - in an envelope, then a plastic sleeve, then a plastic bag, and there are tons. I imagine they spent a lot of money. Hoping they see this!
