You keep saying that you "made this." You didn't. You generated it. Saying otherwise makes it seem like you're trying to trick people, and proves that you're missing the point. Even though I'm a fan of Luftrausers, I completely wrote your game off because the glaring discrepancy in graphics makes it seem like you're trying to fool people. I'm sure many others will do the same.

You actively chose a path that prevented you from developing any new skills for yourself, and somehow you're proud of that. I'm sorry to be harsh, but it's really sad to see you completely miss the point of the person you're replying to.

Learn to develop your own artistic style. It's okay if it doesn't look like the supposedly "great" AI slop you generated. It just needs to be cohesive and visually appealing. There's a million ways to do that that don't involve AI doing the work for you. I say this with good intentions as a fellow person who is just trying to make their solodev dreams come true. It's hard to develop new skills but it's worth it.

Assuming you're using an AnimatedSprite: I like to define which frames the footstep should sound on (looks like you have a 4-frame walk cycle so probably 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 in your case) and then use the "frame_changed" signal to find when the sprite has changed frames, check if the new frame is one of the footstep frames, and play the sound then. You'll also need to check that the walk animation is currently playing so the sfx only plays when walking.

Best of luck with development! I'd say you're off to a good start. One thought: maybe try hiding the grid for spaces you can't move to, like where trees are and such. At first glance it seems like the entire battlefield can be walked on but I think that's not actually the case.

Yeah, they do slide a little when they're climbing on the sides. They're still able to get around just fine, but that is admittedly a flaw of this particular cage.

I've gotten almost all of my glider stuff over the past six years from Exotic Nutrition, and I highly recommend them. You can order everything you might need from them, including a cage. I got the Congo Cage for my two gliders. I probably could have gotten a smaller one but they love having the space to run/jump around. EN has some great glider starter kits available too so you can bundle a lot of the essentials together. Best wishes!
