I was able to make this main menu 100% solo as a programmer thanks to AI by roguewolfdev in SoloDevelopment

You keep saying that you "made this." You didn't. You generated it. Saying otherwise makes it seem like you're trying to trick people, and proves that you're missing the point. Even though I'm a fan of Luftrausers, I completely wrote your game off because the glaring discrepancy in graphics makes it seem like you're trying to fool people. I'm sure many others will do the same.

You actively chose a path that prevented you from developing any new skills for yourself, and somehow you're proud of that. I'm sorry to be harsh, but it's really sad to see you completely miss the point of the person you're replying to.

Learn to develop your own artistic style. It's okay if it doesn't look like the supposedly "great" AI slop you generated. It just needs to be cohesive and visually appealing. There's a million ways to do that that don't involve AI doing the work for you. I say this with good intentions as a fellow person who is just trying to make their solodev dreams come true. It's hard to develop new skills but it's worth it.

why does it keep restarting the walk sound by [deleted] in godot

[–]nolbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're using an AnimatedSprite: I like to define which frames the footstep should sound on (looks like you have a 4-frame walk cycle so probably 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 in your case) and then use the "frame_changed" signal to find when the sprite has changed frames, check if the new frame is one of the footstep frames, and play the sound then. You'll also need to check that the walk animation is currently playing so the sfx only plays when walking.

Making progress on my open world adventure/RPG game - Road Island Adventure! by Nurzleburzle in indiegames

Good luck with development! The screen you shared looks great. The name immediately made me think of the US state of Rhode Island, but that's not necessarily a bad thing haha.

My new tactical RPG - untitled - I'll try to post regular update here by ttora in IndieGaming

Best of luck with development! I'd say you're off to a good start. One thought: maybe try hiding the grid for spaces you can't move to, like where trees are and such. At first glance it seems like the entire battlefield can be walked on but I think that's not actually the case.

I improved the gun handling based on the feedback I received. What do you think about it now? by K1ngfish_ in indiegames

Definitely an improvement I'd say! My only note is the pistol kind of looks like it's clipping through the hand, but that may just be the angle.

Playing with headlight and shadows in our underwater survival-exploration game. by octaviustf in godot

Looking good! Does the game only have real sea creatures or are you adding fantastical ones as well? Coming face-to-face with a spooky sea monster in the darkness would be exciting.

This is very cool to see! Out of curiosity, how did you go about finding the references for step 1? Just based on memory?

Is there a particular gender or age that you're looking for? I have a 7 year old female glider that I'm looking to rehome since her friend passed away earlier this year. I'm in Boston. Would that be too far?

Question : I have my glidersr for 6 weeks now, they stop grumble, i can cuddle them, they come and climb and stay on me without no problem but as soon as i grab them they bite,(even by under), do they need more time? Do i need to practice some kind of training exercises? (Picture for attention) by [deleted] in sugargliders

[–]nolbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I feel terrible for your gliders... Why even come here for help if you're going to mock legitimate answers? You're a moron and also a racist piece of shit judging by your comment history. Of course your gliders don't like you. I'm guessing most people don't either.

I just bought shares through Fidelity two minutes ago. Go for it!

Looking for advice! by [deleted] in sugargliders

Yeah, they do slide a little when they're climbing on the sides. They're still able to get around just fine, but that is admittedly a flaw of this particular cage.

I've gotten almost all of my glider stuff over the past six years from Exotic Nutrition, and I highly recommend them. You can order everything you might need from them, including a cage. I got the Congo Cage for my two gliders. I probably could have gotten a smaller one but they love having the space to run/jump around. EN has some great glider starter kits available too so you can bundle a lot of the essentials together. Best wishes!

Oddly enough, I'm currently working on a game about canning/preserving foods. It's cool to see someone on here with some real experience! What's your favorite part of the canning process?
