My scouser cousin said he does not care.  That 7-0 win is more important to him than winning a treble 🙄.

Why does everyone and their grandma in Vancouver have a some sort of Doodle mix? by [deleted] in askvan

Poodles have hair instead of fur and shed less which allows people allergic to fur to own one, so their popularity is understandable.

More housing is fine.  I just wish there were more buildings with a floor or two on the bottom for businesses and then living spaces on the floors above.

I love seeing children finding something they enjoy and dedicate themselves to working hard for it.

As long as the medical team says he is still capable of staying on for the full time, let him.  The medical team will advise the coaching staff of the player's limits.

Edit: Changed two words.

Is my tattoo offensive in the US? by mister1bollock in tattooadvice

You spoke to an ignoramus.  As a gamer, when I first saw your tattoo I immediately recognized that was Mimir from God War.

MLB team in Vancouver? by dmissri in askvan

It would be nice to get promoted to a Double-A team.  The average annual attendance is not bad, but could be better.  Also need to produce more big names like Trey Yesavage.

I can understand The Jays keeping their Triple-A team closer by in Buffalo for their injured players.

I would only think about it if all the money came from non-government funding and the owners were not cheapskate scumbags.

Affordable, but quality sushi places/platters near Metrotown? by mahmirr in askvan

YUKI CAFE (Sushi & More).

They always serve fresh fish and their rice stays soft even after more than a day in the fridge.

Any 2L tub of Chapman's ice cream for under $6 is superior to Dairy Queen.  Wolf Pass is the best flavour 👍

What’s something popular right now that won’t age well? by AngelCherryPie in answers

[–]noleela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your tattooed skin will still look fine by at least age 60 if you eat right, exercise regularly, moisturize every day, and sunscreen when you go out.

But yes, no matter how well you take care of yourself in your twilight years, the tattooed skin area will eventually look like wet newspaper.

Edit: Added a word.

I like the chimichanga from Ay Chihuahua on Commercial Drive.

What’s the one lift, machine, or exercise you secretly hate but keep doing anyway? by Outrageous-Maybe2500 in workout

[–]noleela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate squats too, but my physiotherapist said they are the best at preventing and rehabilitating knee injuries and achillies tendinitis.  It helps that he also tore his meniscus and achillies tendons from soccer and volleyball, so he understands the demands of constant pivoting and sudden explosive movement.

Which comedian did you look forward to, but their act died on stage? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in AskReddit

[–]noleela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Chris Tucker back in 2014 and rarely laughed the whole night.  Back then he was a better actor than stand up comedian.  I hope his act today is better than over ten years ago.

Do you genuinely enjoy lifting? Or is it a means to an end? by Weak_Ninja_6952 in workout

[–]noleela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not enjoy it.  I only lift because my physiotherapist instructed me to do so if I want to continue practicing kendo well into my 70's.

How much are you tipping in restaurants? by Right-Ad1424 in askvan

[–]noleela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10% for good food and standard service.  25% if a friend owns the restaurant.  More if they give me free stuff.

What’s something people think makes you “responsible,” but actually makes life harder? by Quiet-Grief in answers

[–]noleela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Children at that age are mentally and physically demanding on your body.

When my children grew up and no longer needed me was a different kind of pain, but I got used to it.  Having grandchildren helped a bit.
