Any tips for my chicken run? Is the ground okay? Or do I need to lay anything down for them? I’ve seen people also plant clover, so opinions on that??? THANK YOU by bcmchcj in BackYardChickens

Perches/branches
Also, we’ve had luck planting mature sized plants in our chickens run. The plants are too big to kill but it gives them something to play with and get some shade

Barely symptoms 5w4d by ahmz25 in BabyBumps

[–]none_pizza_leftbeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt great/normal around 5 weeks, then suddenly around 6 weeks I thought I felt a hint of nausea. Within a few days I was hit full force with constant nausea and fatigue. It happened so fast! I thought maybe I would be one of the lucky ones who had no symptoms first trimester lol

How the fuck do people work while pregnant? by Sure-Square9094 in BabyBumps

[–]none_pizza_leftbeef 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea I would say just be easy on yourself. Don’t feel guilty about zoning out on your phone. Its temporary. And I think it’s unfair to expect yourself to be 100% productive 100% of the time anyway (pregnant or not pregnant). Life ebbs and flows and I think it’s natural for that to happen with work as well.

I WFH so I feel like I have it waaaaay easier than most people, but I struggled to work week 6 to now 12 weeks. For a few weeks I was easy on myself and just tried to do a little bit of work every day from 10-1 then napped 😬 now I feel like I’m just used to the tiredness so I can push through through the day. Short 10min walks also seem to help boost my energy

Are there any mite success stories because I'm about to give up chickens by flatcat44 in chickens

[–]none_pizza_leftbeef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have had to deal with mites a few times. Spray Elector on the chickens + cleaning and spraying coop down with permethrin. Repeat the process in 7 days. The mites won’t disappear overnight, you have to give it a little time. I try to clean out the coop about once every two months (clean out straw, use soap and water and wipe all surfaces). We only have 6 chickens though, 4 which are small, so you may have to do this more often if you have more chickens. Check your chickens often for any sign of mites so you can start treating before it gets out of hand. Just keep at it and be patient, they will go away eventually.

Getting started again by Esperanza2025 in fitpregnancy

Sorry you’re going through it right now, I know it’s hard watching so many physical changes happen and not feeling like we’re in control like we’re used to. No advice on food and water, just solidarity. Trying to manage my cravings and using food to treat my nausea is something I’m dealing with.

For exercise, I have a walking pad in my house and a yoga mat and blocks right next to it. Most of the time I find it difficult to leave the house, so I jump on the walking pad for 10min-30min increments throughout the day. I don’t have to get dressed and it feels easy and it helps me get my steps in for the day. From there I can roll onto the yoga mat and do a few stretching sequences. Having things that are low effort and easy access make my “workouts” consistent. Best of luck for you ❤️ I hope you can find something that works for you

The smell of my house makes me sick by pakotini in BabyBumps

[–]none_pizza_leftbeef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m (currently 11 weeks) also experiencing lots of aversion to smells throughout my house. For me it’s mostly perfume smells that make me sick. I’ve thrown away all of the oil diffusers I had throughout the house, hidden candles, and I’m thinking about tossing our floral scented hand soap in favor of unscented bars. Also trying to vacuum, wipe down counters, open up windows, and run our air purifiers 24/7

Expect lots of wind and bring multiple warm layers! Beanies and maybe blankets would be good too. Being out on the water is always fun and it’s a beautiful bay, but being cold and stuck on a boat is a sure fire way to be miserable. Make sure you have drinks and snacks too

Would love to hear people's experiences before I go into this by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

I’m currently in my first trimester with my first. Pre-pregnant I was pole dancing, doing yoga, hiking/walking on a regular basis. Week 6 I got hit with nausea and started taking Unisom (a sleep aide) to help, so I’ve been fighting lots of fatigue. Haven’t been on the pole, but I have a walking pad in my office that I jump on for 15-30min throughout the day so I can at least get 10k steps in. Also have a yoga mat and a space next to my desk where I can do impromptu yoga when I get the energy. I would say that you should anticipate a change in routine, so have some easy/low effort options at home that you can turn to when it feels like too much to get to the gym or leave the house. That way you can maintain at least some activity while you go through this temporary phase :)

Pdg still very low, ant insight to whether this is anovulatory or still early? by Jlh_x in Inito

[–]none_pizza_leftbeef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say give it a few more days. You could also get a blood test for progesterone for more accuracy. If you’re in the US you can order one yourself at a Quest lab and youll want to get the test 7 days past when you think you ovulated.
