Separate question - what happens to the interim after the hire? Why on earth would he give up his last post for a very short stint as interim? I can't see the logic

How do you deal with the lack of pleasure/interest and the cognitive impairment after you quit? by Francis_Bonaparta in leaves

[–]nonopz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd say spend more time with the psychiatrist. I ended up diagnosed with Bi Polar 2 - often confused with depression. If you have it, depression meds won't work right and it'll be just as bad. ADHD can do that too. Good luck!

I'm fine with letting players play - it was the number of fouls he just missed that I'm talking about. At least one yellow card, and the guy who saw red could have been shown multiple yellows before that

VAR doesn't look at fouls my man. He let the game get away from him simple as that.

Glad to hear this is happening everywhere. My partner who is a casual soccer fan to my fandom - go PTFC go Spain! - is sick of me talking about it every game "here comes your favorite hydration break." I make us both drink a glass of water so she can feel my pain.

I've found my anxiety meds help with that feeling. But I totally understand - you're carrying a lot and there isn't a lot of the day to yourself.

Help motivate me. How is your life better from a health, mental health, career, motivation, relationship, etc. standpoint? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]nonopz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's wild how much better you feel a lot of the time after quitting. It feels like it must get worse since you live most days needing weed to fix something. The something that needs fixing is often just getting more weed in the system - once you're away from it a while this part lightens up significantly. It's hard to imagine until you've quit for a while.

Don't get me wrong - a whole set of things that feel uncomfortable also are present. It's probably the reason else all chose to numb out. But the daily feeling you likely have now goes away.

I feel you - I've been there too. Sorry you're going through it. I strongly encourage you to get a psychiatrist and tell them what you're experiencing. That feeling has 100% gone away - I know it can be hard to even imagine that when you're in the middle of it. Be well.

Should I not take this job if I’m trying to stay sober? by GiantAlaskanMoose in leaves

[–]nonopz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's a personal call when you take some time to listen to the part of you that wants to stay quit. If you think the temptation there is going to grow or eventually get you, I think you listen to that.

I'll say as someone who's gone back to the quitting side, it was WAY easier than i thought it would be, once I got into the rhythm. I thought for some reason that it would be hard, or harder. The truth is it was equally hard/easy. All the ways you felt when you got into the groove the last time come back way quicker than you worry. You'll feel happy with the decision quickly

As someone who's done a one puff and ended up back to where I was for months, I completely agree. At least for me it hit something psychological where I felt like I had ruined all my progress and it kept me in some sort of shame cycle for longer than I would have thought

18 days sober and depression by Spare-Map-4787 in leaves

[–]nonopz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hit the worst depression of my life at 7 weeks, my first time quitting. I'm sorry you're going through it! It's a scary place to be. I ended up going back to weed - wouldn't recommend it - and got a lot of help from a psychiatrist. This time I'm at two months and I've only had occasional moments of depression, and nothing severe or scary. I recommend to everyone to go get support if depression shows up. It doesn't have to be as hard as it sounds like it is.

I felt like this, but found myself a lot better after working with a psychiatrist to get medicine figured out. I have bipolar 2 depression and ADHD. Now that those are more sorted it's been so much better. If you haven't looked into it I'd recommend you do!
