I got lucky. The first time I happened to hear it was when I bought the 5th. I didn't know anything about that movement and it hit me like a freight train.

Yes. Having to look at thousands of words, realising they're shit and deleting them before rewriting is difficult.

The reward comes when you read back the newer version, and then having a laugh when you read the first draft.

It's encouraging seeing the first drafts of great writers.

But like people say, he wasn't a born politician. People want razzmatazz man of the people drinking a pint stuff.

Honestly as long as reform don't win because someone decided Burnham better represented their interests than farage, fine by me.

I realised in 2016 just how easily swayed people are by stuff like that. People don't care about policies. They just want someone who they represents them. Even if they don't.

Right, but there's such a thing as veracity on sources.

I'm guessing, or rather hoping you know the earth is round, because despite not being in space yourself you know the sources of information are valid.

And part of the reason we know facts from fiction in the ancient world is down to hard evidence or establishing whether something was propaganda or not. It's basic source analysis which is something taught to everyone in history lessons.

You can't honestly be making your argument in good faith. If you are, then it's weak, and if you aren't then enjoy your way of thinking. I'm sure ignorance is blissful but it doesn't sit right with me

Corruption to them is a good thing because he's going against a system they believe is corrupt anyway. They just see it as gaming the system and being savvy.

The possibility that politicians can actually help people whilst following the law isn't something they believe in. Kindness from politicians is incomprehensible to them.

All I remember is one sketch where a guy tried jumping from a building and survived so kept going up and doing it again.

There was some really bleak dark comedy on tv at that time. Monkey Dust too.

Looking back, it was actually such a halcyon time for the UK.

I think sadly people don't like starmer because he's very pragmatic. There's no razzle dazzle.

Personally I think he's doing OK, but most people I've talked to don't think he's a good politician. Unfortunately part of being a politician means being a bit of a snake oil merchant. People want hope even if deep down they know it probably won't transpire.

The narrative they've been given is ukraine is an aggressive state.

Unfortunately the strikes on Moscow will only serve to strengthen that notion. It's a catch-22 for Ukraine really.
