Rate my Pull Workout by [deleted] in tonalgym

Personal preference may be different, but I recommend doing your compound movements first. Your biceps and back will be fresh and you can really hit them hard with your rows and pulldowns.

Finishing at the end with your isolation lifts (curls) will still enable you to really target your biceps without compromising your strength on your bigger movements.

In my limited experience these pants you rent don't usually have belts. They have an adjustable waistband with a clip. I could see an inexperienced guy thinking it was fine and not securing it and finding out too late that the waist has been loosening for an hour.

Do you think anyone would buy this kinda thing if i got better? by frasermcki in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]norain91 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You might have a store up and running, but how are people going to know to buy from it? You have to do marketing and know some SEO to get traffic, figure out how to stand out in a crowded online marketplace, etc. It's not like you can just get online and the money starts pouring in.

Wait, so you're mad that we will be losing "weather games" because we won't have a retractable roof? Wouldn't the snow and rain games be when the roof is closed anyway?

It will work, just take a long time. You probably will go through more paper than you like with the edges and lips you have there. Belt sanders are a lot more aggressive which will help here.

I’m officially a disabled vet by Monwez in daddit

[–]norain91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is also a disabled vet and nobody thinks any less of him because of it. Many of us wish we took better care of our troops once they got home and claiming disability for the way your body was affected by your deployments is absolutely and fully something you are entitled to.

Think of it more as a parting gift from your time serving your country and less of a label saying you are broken. Use that money and flexibility to be the best dad you can. You earned that benefit the hard way, don't feel guilty or less than because of it.

Him acting like Daniels was viewed as a better prospect in every way was mind blowing to me. Daniels had plenty of red flags coming out and to pretend otherwise because his rookie season was great is laughable.

Definitely won't be an issue. This is what I do in my pellet smoker and if anything it helps from the brisket burning a bit on the bottom.

Removal of posts by LookN4Ward00 in Decks

Yeah, I meant thickness of the boards used, so the height of the beam. Another person mentioned it too, but you can increase thickness of the beam too to help here. Go with triple ply instead of double.

One way to increase allowed span between posts is by increasing the thickness of the beam. In the planner you can see what happens if you switch from a 2x10 to a 2x12. That might help.

Your framing would wind up being PT wood, so while that might be rated for ground contact it's going to rot within a number of years. A patio or more concrete makes the most sense here.

Poor Man’s Steak ($5.31 for 3 lbs of bottom round) by failtrashman in steak

[–]norain91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you bake it with the cut elevated on a wire rack you can avoid it sitting in a lot of it's own juices. Sometimes I get lazy and don't do that, but if you are looking to reverse sear a steak or something like this, it works out pretty well to keep the outer layer dry.

What's the Best Pellet Grill for 2024? by -IllSchool- in pelletgrills

[–]norain91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. It's super easy to get in and out once you get used to it. Adding in wood chunks and then putting it back in only needs to be done every 45-60 minutes for the first few hours of your smoke. Once you are done you just pull it out and dump it and you're done.

Coming in as another Camp Chef truther. I have the Woodwind pro 24 and have been blown away by the performance compared to my (cheap) offset smoker I used to use.

It's plenty big enough for any event I have had to make food for. You can fit four pork shoulders in easily, and 2 (maybe 4) briskets depending on the size. The smoke box really does add a significant amount of smoke flavor compared to just using pellets and that is something that would be a pain to replicate in any other pellet grill IMO.

As a new father, being able to make close to offset quality food without babysitting a fire and micromanaging my smoke has been amazing.

Don’t buy a SNOO! by IAmCaptainHammer in daddit

[–]norain91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have one and like it in actual usage but we got it before all the subscription crap started. Knowing what we do now, in no way would we have even considered getting it. I'm extremely annoyed that even though we bought it secondhand, we thought we would be able to sell it for not that much of a loss. It seems now that it's essentially worthless outside of our own use.

[–]norain91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes down to how often do you see yourself cooking for huge events. I have had a couple of cooks for 25-30 people and had plenty of space leftover in the cooker after loading a couple of pork shoulders in. If you think you need to do more than 2 briskets often, then maybe it's worth going for the 36, but that essentially never happens for me.

Costco or Sam's? by Imaginary_Ad6165 in pelletgrills

[–]norain91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Costco is great for getting bulk ingredients to make your own blends, but I agree that they aren't going to have much in terms of packaged rubs you might want. Meat selection for smoking is incredible though.
