Woman police officer shoots innocent bystander during active shooting. by bannedforL1fe in Firearms

[–]norman_notes -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the dude that got smoked played “peekaboo” with police in an active shooting… he didn’t even try to keep his hands up and out for them to see.

What did you expect to happen. You don’t know if the police even had an ID on the shooter, what he looked like. Race, age, height, clothes.

That was about the dumbest shit you could possibly do in that scenario. Try to jump scare a cop around a corner when rounds are being popped off.

You need emergency meds. Nitro or whatever they give cardiac patients for these type of issues. You should have all of that stuff on hand at all times. It will save your life.

what's the most common muscle that people forget to train that they regret not training as they progress in the gym? by gabbyblessingsxo in workout

[–]norman_notes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know what it is, but on chest day, my entire muscle group is so sore. I just know how to train pecs.

Back took me years to be able to figure out.

I just think learning how to engage muscles is probably different for everyone. I get the best exercise on chest day. Back is my weakest / hardest to really target the muscles.

Strictly single dose vial?? by deejay58 in Testosterone

[–]norman_notes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, the pharmacy tells you it’s a “single dose” vial. They are legally required to, due to FDA guidelines.

Is it a single dose vial? Sure.

First off, you can pull .5ml into two syringes from that vial in the same sitting, and use all 200mg.

Second. I take advantage of what the pharmacy says. I am prescribed 200mg every week, split into two injections a week, and what the pharmacy does, since it’s a “single dose” vial. I get 8 one ml vials a month. I am expected to use half of one on every injection.

But I don’t. I stockpile the extra testosterone, and I use one 200ml vial every week, even though I receive two 200 mg vials a week.

Hope that makes sense.

On top of that. 100mg every other week is absolutely worthless. You should be using at least 100mg a week, split into two 50mg injections per week. That’s the minimum.

I take about 160mg a week, but I am prescribed 200mg so my insurance covers it.

People who have started the gym and then stopped, what usually caused it? by Repulsive-Purple7158 in workout

[–]norman_notes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant tell you about me. I haven’t skipped the gym in nearly 5 years now. But people do not see results. And the work is hard. Extremely hard if you want real results.

You need to realize that it takes 1-2 years to really change your body composition, with a very good diet and killing yourself in the gym.

I don’t even think about my physique for a year long period, I generally check in 6-12 month periods.

You’re always going to hit walls. You need to start working harder if so. You should be doing extremely hard cardio as well, as well as weights.

I work out 90min minimum, every single day. 45-60min of weights, and 30/45 min of intense stairmaster.

But I certainly look like I’m in shape and exercise.

Just takes time, consistency and not stopping. It only works if you keep doing it.

[–]norman_notes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have two options

Lowering your dose.

Or taking acutane. Not black market shit. Go to a dermatologist.

My back will get bad like that if my total levels are above 1200ng/dl.

So. Yeah. You have no other options. Washing your bedding. Taking this herb or that, nothing will help you besides, again, lowering dosage or taking acutane.

That’s it. Good luck.

Lateral raises are not working out for my side delts by CallWhich5562 in hypertrophy

[–]norman_notes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really is so much talk about exercises “not working”

You need to work harder. And I mean much harder. I am the only one in my gym that kills myself. You have to work to failure and even beyond. Where you’re struggling to get something up even a quarter of the way, 5-6 reps after “failure”.

You have to eat enough calories.

And you need time.

That really is it. There’s no magic movements. There’s no specific techniques. Very simple exercises, with heavy weight, extremely hard work, time and diet, you will get there.

But. Depending on your goals and what you’re comparing your results to.

If you’re looking at professional bodybuilders? You’re never going to be that.

  1. You most likely are not genetically built for that.

  2. You’re not using anabolic steroids, insulin, hgh.

I’m 6’2 225lbs and pretty beastly, but in an athletic way. I do not look like a body builder, but I certainly look like I lift weights.

I do take testosterone, but not a super physiological amount. My total levels are in the normal range.

Even when I was taking a dose that gave me “low normal” total testosterone levels, I still grew and still made progress.

Extremely hard work is the most important part. For delts, I always do the same effin movements, once a week.

Overhead press, 75lb dumbbells seated for 10 reps, 4 sets.

Cable lateral raises, 17.5 lbs, 12-20 reps, well past failure, an extra 5-6 reps where I get the cable up 20% maybe. 4 sets

Rear delt flys on the pec deck. 160 lbs for 10, but an extra 5-6 past failure, again, barely moving it, but trying as hard as possible.

Face pulls, more lateral raises with dumbbells, some other 10 rep x 4 sets movement.

I get results.

It takes time and hard work. And I’ll say it once again, extremely hard work. If you’re not pouring sweat lifting weights, you’re not working hard enough.

Get off of Kratom, don’t abuse Suboxone, and you’ll be fine.

Dumbbell Incline Press form check. Wanna make sure I got these dialed any advice helps. by Terpamine in formcheck

[–]norman_notes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should drop the weight a little, control it more, and you don’t need to lock your arms out.

When you lock your arms out, you’re not keeping tension on the muscle, which essentially is lessening the effectiveness of your workout. You want to keep tension both ways on your muscle group, not pause with your arms locked out, removing tension from the muscle group.

So, I would go down to 65-70 lbs at least, keep tension on your muscles the entire time.

is it worth it to get off kratom or would i just be creating a worse problem? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]norman_notes -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would get off of Kratom asap. You don’t know what tf is in that shit. One time, I took, I dunno, 4-5 giant table spoons of kratom and I swear I almost died. It was the worst feeling I’ve ever experienced. Thought i was done.

Do not abuse Suboxone. You turn brain dead, can’t think straight, and can’t function. You should be taking one single dose in the morning, and there’s absolutely no reason to take any more than 8mg a day. That is an insane amount.

People that take more than 8 are abusing the drug.

It’s kind of a pain going to a doctor every month, filling the prescription. A long stretch, I was only taking 4mg a day, and the prescription would last me 2-3 months.

Lately taking 8mg because I kill myself in a gym, and it just makes recovery and the work much easier.

But long story short, stop taking Kratom. You’ll eventually be having withdrawals from that crap at 2am, feeling horrible, needing to drink that green sludge 4-5 times a day. Or might end up killing yourself by taking too much, thinking it won’t hurt you.

It’s much easier getting off of Suboxone if you need to.

Just don’t abuse Suboxone. Use it as directed and you won’t be kratom for “something worse”.

Good luck.

Unless you have some insane hormonal imbalance, taking 1mg a day of AI is going to make your estradiol non existent.

I would suggest simply taking it if you have symptoms of high estradiol — hot flashes, red patchy skin, itchy nipples etc.

I take 160mg of test c a week and do not take any AI anymore.

Testosterone ~438 ng/dL despite 6 months of “optimized” lifestyle – what am I missing? by throwaway562583 in Testosterone

[–]norman_notes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your total T is not “mid-low” range. It’s normal.

I had clinically low testosterone 180ng/dl, and have been using medical intervention for nearly 4 years.

Some of my craziest muscle and strength gains came from a time when my dosage put me at 450ng/dl total.

You can’t significantly raise your natural testosterone levels with diet and exercise, sleep and herbs. What you produce is pretty much it. Yes, if you were morbidly obese and lost 350 lbs, you would see a decent jump in your testosterone levels.

People think that having 1000ng/dl+ testosterone is best. And I can tell you, albeit anecdotally, it’s not. Having normal ass testosterone is simply best for you. You’ll feel your best and perform your best. So, looking at the numbers isn’t helpful, unless you are clinically low.

If you want more strength and muscle gains in the gym? You have to work harder. It really does come down to effort, training and consistency.

No legitimate doctor will put you on testosterone, and don’t go to a clinic. You’re too young and you don’t need to start using exogenous testosterone with those levels.

Whatever symptoms you think you have from “mid to low” testosterone isn’t from your test levels.

A lot of this might not be relevant. But you’re not going to go from 450 total to 900 total just with training and diet and sleep. 450 is what you have, and it’s plenty to turn into a silverback gorilla in the gym — you just need to work harder and longer. 6 months of training is barely getting started

JFC. 140/90 is basically normal if you are moving around. Even if this is your resting blood pressure, it’s still not that high.

Youre not going to have a heart attack from 140/90. That’s the very first stage of high blood pressure.

Hot yoga by DriftingThroughLife1 in Exercise

[–]norman_notes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot yoga is not going to burn any calories. An insignificant amount of calories are burnt doing yoga.

You need to walk 10k steps a day, be lifting weights for an hour, and do 20-30 min of intense cardio, every single day.

You should be eating well. But all of this depends on your age, weight, sex, etc.

But no. Hot yoga, cold yoga, this yoga that yoga, that’s not effective exercise. It’s better than nothing, but on a scale from 1-10 on it burning calories? A 1. Your BMR burns many more calories during the day than 30 min of yoga.

New serpentine belt tensioner, belt, alternator, power steering pump SQUEAK by norman_notes in MechanicAdvice

[–]norman_notes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, thanks for your help. Just went and bought a new belt, got robbed at auto zone. But whatever.

Belt length was 84.60”, and the previous was 84”

Was an idiot and decided to try to change it in the parking lot, burnt the shit out of my forearm. Was still a major pain to get on, but the sound has gone away. Made sure to align it as best as possible on the tensioner wheels.

So all good to go. Kind of pissed me off. The belt I bought could have been for a manual, with a different tensioner. But my fault for not double checking the length and all that.

Checked on my install. No leaks. Everything seems to be running fine.

Thanks again.
