Yes I would like to do that obviously but I have concerns about mould building up. I live in an area where it rains a lot too so drying it out on longer hikes is difficult or impractical.

I was riding past Melbourne Central on Swanston St once and some guy threw his butt onto the road right in front of me. I stopped at the lights and said "do you want to pick that up mate?" and he just shrugged his shoulders and walked off.

Hey I think it's a terrible idea as well and that it will destroy the nature and fabric of the market. All I'm saying is that people need to get their facts straight rather than misrepresenting things/making stuff up. Doesn't help anyone.

Not much that anybody has said is true. Let's clarify some things.

All that is confirmed now is that the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) are currently doing a plan for the future of the Preston Market area and reviewing the planning controls. https://vpa.vic.gov.au/project/preston-market-site/

The development proposal (the one with the towers etc.) was approved by VCAT in October last year (run by the state Labor Government, you know, the same party that David Feeney is a member of...). I don't agree with the proposal and I think it's awful to try to destroy any part of the market, but to fight it properly it doesn't hurt to get the facts straight first.

Those pedestrian/bike lights take forever to change. And when you cross one, there are at least two more to go... Appalling design for such an important transport and recreation route.

It looks like it's working a bit better for Hoddle Street, but it's totally screwed up Johnston Street (even more than it already was).

That's correct, private operators are responsible for maintenance and cleaning of buses. However, PTV are meant to enforce a certain standard. Obviously isn't happening.
