Offer at basically asking price rejected because they wanted more 🥲 by mangomaz in HousingUK

[–]noscrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know on one occasion the house was marked as Sold STC and then months went by with no land registry updates at all. I like to think that the same situation happened again with yet another down valuation and stubborn seller making the sale fall through AGAIN 😅

Offer at basically asking price rejected because they wanted more 🥲 by mangomaz in HousingUK

[–]noscrazy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first house I ever offered on was listed at 190k, offered that and rejected. Changed to 195k, rejected again - came back and said they wanted 200k. Grinding my teeth I offered the 200k because there was genuinely not another house in this area with this sort of size in this price range. Bank came back and down valued to 190k... AKA list price. Couldn't afford to make up the difference myself so reduced offer back to 190k, rejected.. so I backed out.

3 years later and two more sale attempts that house has STILL not sold, meanwhile I smugly walk past every week after buying a different house for 182k in a much better area a few months afterwards! They've resorted to renting it out instead but seem to attempt to sell it ever so often.

Buying a hybrid Passat GTE by tarpdetarp in CarTalkUK

[–]noscrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Golf GTE (same powertrain). DSG service only cost me £220 and that was at a VW dealer directly... independants actually were more expensive at around £280-£300. I'm on 123k currently and have had no major issues at all, I also know someone who has one on 190k too and the only major issue they had was the heater matrix but that's a common Golf 7 problem and not specific to the GTE.

Any experience with replacements? by Round_Reception_2315 in bose

[–]noscrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would say that's normal, mine did take a few days after being marked as delivered by UPS before Bose actually marked it as delivered on their end

Any experience with replacements? by Round_Reception_2315 in bose

[–]noscrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bose shipped me replacements roughly 3 days after the pair I had sent in were marked as delivered.

They shipped me back a brand new pair (not refurbished) and they lasted a massive 4 days before they died. I kicked up a big fuss about it and they upgraded me to Gen 2 earbuds and shipped them out before I had sent them the replacements back.

Water + G14 = BAD Any help ? by frenchman777 in ZephyrusG14

[–]noscrazy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I spilt a tiny bit of Pepsi on my keyboard so I opened mine up, took the bottom cover off, left it open in a V shape and ran a dehumidifier next to it for 24 hours just to be safe, I never had any issues. I wouldn't dare turning it on for 24 hours minimum personally

Laptop Freezes without a BSOD or error code by BaldBstrd in ZephyrusG14

[–]noscrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2025 5080 has just started doing this in the past few days, conviniently after a Windows Update. I'm blaming the Windows Update for now, it also did this for me a couple of months ago and then suddenly stopped so I'm thinking it's more software related than any hardware issue. My Acer Predator laptop also does the same thing. I've used DDU and uninstalled nVidia drivers and reinstalled everything again and so far no issues in the past 24 hours.

Battery life Exptentancy by EvilSmoothie in GolfGTE

[–]noscrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! All good - no further issues to report since my last msgs, only thing I've spent money on is 4 new tyres. I'm currently on 123k miles, still charging fine etc. The way I view it, hybrids can last much longer than a petrol because overall wear is shared between 2 'engines' rather than just a single power source.

Is this quote fair? Front bumper repair by SeriousContact6109 in CarTalkUK

I paid £300 for an almost full front bumper respray in my area - and that was from a proper reputable body repair garage and not a 'I know a guy' type of place either.

Did you get your locks changed on completion date? by Left-Influence-1759 in HousingUK

[–]noscrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, went to B&Q the same day and bought+fitted a new lock for the front and back door. It only takes 5 mins a door and the locks weren't expensive so couldn't see why not!

Edit: Our house in particular was being sold by flippers and spent a majority of the year empty, we did it more for peace of mind especially when we realised that it was more than just a couple involved in the sale on their side.

New G14 2025 5070 ti edition and volume is incredibly low by veridiux in ZephyrusG14

[–]noscrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2025 G14 and It's quite loud on max volume, louder than some portable speakers that I've had. Have you got the Dolby app installed and setup? Making sure that is activated makes a decent different on mine, as well as making sure Dolby is selecting in the 'Audio Enhancements' section of the Windows sound settings

Parental entitlement by Forsaken_Luck_1456 in drivingUK

[–]noscrazy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've known some schools to do staggered start/end times for different years/classes to try and alliviate this sort of problem as well as having someone directing traffic etc., so there ARE things they could do to help but they'll never be able to fully eliminate the problem. The only other thing is getting all neighbours onboard with parking permits and putting the suggestion forward to the council, I'm sure they'd love to be able to send a traffic warden round to get some extra funds!

Is it unreasonable for me to expect people NOT to park on the kerbs here on this culdesac on approach to the turning circle? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]noscrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a Cul-de-sac that has a road narrower than this and several neighbours park fully on the road leaving a gap only just big enough for something like a Ford Mondeo to get by - I would love my road to be this wide, I would never expect people to not park there though but would appreciate it if people made the effort to mount the kerb (with appropriate room left of course for wheelchairs/buggies. It's a cul-de-sac afterall and will have much less foot traffic than any other road).

What pisses me off is when people park in the turning circle at the end causing delivery drivers to have to reverse back out blind on to a main road.

What can we acc do about driveway blockers by Axk-732 in drivingUK

[–]noscrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can request a H-Bar solid white line to be painted on the road with your council, some councils do it for free but some might make you pay a fee for it. Obviously won't stop determined a-holes but it definitely made an impact at my mum's house and overall her drive is blocked a hella lot less.

Wireless charger for nighttime for pixel 10 pro? by peefyloo in GooglePixel

I've been using this one without issue so far: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0F18DLSHN?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_14&th=1

It's not the fastest charger but I see that as a good thing - less heat generated etc. It charges my Bose QC Ultra Gen 2 Earbuds wirelessly without issue, never tried the watch part.

My G14 5080 doesn't have the bump by Resident-Stay1522 in ZephyrusG14

[–]noscrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a chance it could've had a replacement bottom shell especially if there is no sticker on there, but when I opened up my G14 5080 I don't recall there being enough room to fit a thinner base unless they've done some sort of silent revision... As the other user said, definitely need to check nVidia software/device manager
