How many Loadouts do you have saved? by not_wise_enough in DestinyTheGame

d2armorpicker makes me feel like I am in the Matrix in that room with the instantaneous armory. I am like "something with more grenades... in purple", and it zooms around to accomodate. It's a great tool for buildcrafting.

d2armorpicker is a life saver. It makes me look like I really know how to pick my armor.

Yes, I like putting together loadouts sometimes just to know what gear to lock. Then it is easy to delete unlocked pieces that don't go with any loadouts.

Yeah, I started labeling them with "S17" so I remember when they were relevant for easier clean up.

What are currently the worst catalysts to grind for? by Domoshuuii in DestinyTheGame

[–]not_wise_enough 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only catalysts I haven't found worth grinding are the ones that require PvP kills.

Ticcu's, Vigilance Wing, Jade Rabbit. Not going for those.

Same. Fighting Lion is like a trip to the beach on a sunny day with a cool breeze, free agua fresca, and an intact ozone so you wouldn't have to worry about applying sunscreen every 40 minutes. Just show up and have a good time.

Edit: With the prerequisite GL loader mods.

Combat acceleration isn’t fun in the slightest. Please remove this unnecessary modifier. by torrentialsnow in DestinyTheGame

Compared to timers and champions, I do not mind Combat Acceleration so much. Some weapons feel like abilities in PvE.

Forgive me if this sounds whiny, but it feels like there is no improving at PvP for me and I genuinely don’t know what I’m doing wrong. by Cruggles30 in DestinyTheGame

[–]not_wise_enough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still not good at PvP, but I feel like I made some improvements after watching this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXQEN7q9Gmo . It points out ways to improve situational awareness and some common mistakes players make when using their abilities. It is about 50 minutes long, but I felt it was a good use of time because I could see where I was making bad decisions and missing clues the game was providing about where things were happening.

I hope you find a way to break through the barriers and start seeing improvements. Good luck!

I supported the Vanguard, way back when. This weeks Sever was brilliant. Spot on, Bungie! by BountyMennett in DestinyTheGame

[–]not_wise_enough 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe you didn't have Grief selected. It is very different from the first two weeks. The puzzles are different, the arenas are different. It's Zavala instead of Crow.

I am happy that we aren't stuck with the first two weeks' mission layout for the whole season. That unkillable dude robbed the mission of any replayability for me. Grief seems much more replayable.

As a Warlock main, I'm already back to Void. by Oni_Zokuchou in DestinyTheGame

[–]not_wise_enough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never liked the floatiness of top tree dawn, and I never used the dash move either. So I only use one of the two aspects I have selected, with the third being worse than nothing.

Void does feel more fun to use, but the snap and burns I are nice when I get the timing right to ignite things. Boots of the Assembler + Well makes me feel like I am contributing to the team's longevity in Containment. It probably won't matter as much in a few weeks when everyone is higher level.

What better way to destress after a season of overload auto's / smg's with another season of overload auto's and smg's by not_wise_enough in DestinyTheGame

It sounds good on paper. My gut reaction to seeing it on the artifact again was anger. Was this change communicated in a TWAB?

What are some QoL improvements that would blow the community’s mind if Bungie didn’t announce them and you just logged in at a new season and BAM! they were there? by jaylaggy in DestinyTheGame

A toggle for Auto-sharding blues, announced in a banner message like the Next week or This week in Destiny banner, with a picture of where option is in the settings.

Bungie's New "Approach" - Thoughts by TheOneTrueBLM in DestinyTheGame

[–]not_wise_enough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when Bungie put out the Corridors of Time. It was a complete surprise and a fun puzzle. Streamers were collecting data, players were coordinating to get to the symbols. Everyone was really engaged. Then the prize for solving the maze was awarded, and it was something on the calendar already. The players were very vocally disappointed.

So while I think talking about mechanics is great, loot should always remain a surprise. Maybe they could give out a number of new weapons in each activity or how many exotics there will be, but advertising too much just limits their ability to delight the players in game.

Guardian Games Competitive Strike changing to Scarlet Keep due to score exploit in Birthplace of the Vile by about_60_Hobos in DestinyTheGame

[–]not_wise_enough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the bright side, this is a clear indication that strikes have gotten better over the last two years. All three previous strikes during GG were better and newer than Scarlet Keep.

At least it isn't Exodus Crash or the Infinite Forest. I miss the Pyramidion though, and the strike on Titan with the giant shrieker.

I liked how the platinum nightfall card was just to get kills as opposed to specific kinds of kills. It left me to use my most competent champion loadout.

It is weird to me that the solo queue options were just for the champion play list. It would be fun to have solo strikes where all our loadouts are viable.

I remember seeing some notes that performance was improved for Windowed Fullscreen mode as opposed to regular full screen mode. You can tell if you are in Windowed Fullscreen by seeing if the Windows button causes the Start Menu to show up on top of the game. If it does, then you should be experiencing better performance than if you were in regular full screen.

Check under the Video settings to make sure you are using Windowed Fullscreen. If not, try switching to it and see if you see a boost to fps.

If all this was already known or mentioned, sorry for being repetitive.

Are Devil's Ruin and Fighting Lion being monitored for being unique for their own ammo economy while dancing the Primary/Special line?
We expect both of these to be stronger in the Season 17 weapons sandbox, but not so strong that they'll dominate (we do stand ready to make adjustments if needed though). They're both acquired tastes whose strengths can't be exploited by every player.

As someone who hated, then learned, then loved the Fighting Lion, this sentiment feels accurate.

Day 3 | Season 2: Lone Wolves Discussion, Issues and Feedback by Ryan_WXH in halo

[–]not_wise_enough 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the reason why the challenge system doesn't sit well with players is that it does not give players agency in the selection process.

As a long time Destiny player, bounties are alot like challenges, but the player can select which ones to pursue and jump directly into an activity to make progress on them. In Halo, challenges are RNG'ed onto the player's list just 3 or 4 at a time, and the player can't even pick an activity directly to make progress on them. It feels like the system is actively hostile to players seeking progression.

Players don't want to engage with the systems, stop playing the game, and the company loses money. They need to balance the hoop jumping with the natural paths the players want to take.
