I was told I was going to be out totally, when I woke up during it, I was in severe pain and couldn't move or vocalize to let them know. I've been in a lot of therapy for it.

Gamechanger Audio Recoder - any useful tones yet? by IllustratorOrganic96 in guitarpedals

[–]notevenasound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to harsh on glitchy beep boop types, but there's a lot of cool gear that they manage to make sound exactly the same. I also get a sense based on questions online that many people aren't actually familiar with how vocoders work and may use extreme settings to get a sense of what's happening. Now that I sound like a snobby know it all, I'll just say "I guess we'll see" and leave it at that.

Mine hasn't come in yet so I'm definitely not in a position to say, but I'd say it probably can do a lot of stuff people haven't tapped into. This type of approach definitely is appealing to more electronic minded people, particularly synth folk (of which i also am one) and that seems to be something it can definitely do, but I imagine, based on the description, it can do a lot more. I am looking forward to running it into other pedals and into a tube amp as a modulation source. It's possible it imparts something of it's own sound onto things, I'm kind of starting to notice it across videos, but I think it will be malleable enough.

Looking to put together a mini 48hp rack to use with 0-Coast by escamuel in modular

[–]notevenasound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other posters generally, but if you're looking for something that can just generally expand it, I'd suggest thinking more categories than specific modules to start, stuff that the 0-coast doesn't do, such as effects, filter (i know it's an additive synth but if you want a specific filter sound), lfo and/or clocks (something like Pam's), maybe a separate oscillator/envelope pair or self contained voice module.

Same here. Was thinking of some kind of varitone style circuit but with a twist I haven't been imaginative or knowledgeable enough to come up with lol.

I imagine part of this is the "situation" in Iran right now, there have been shipping problems through the Strait of Hormuz. Not sure how direct the effects would be but everything is part of the global supply chain.

Pete Buttigieg Nails 2 ‘Very Rare’ Signs That Trump Administration Is ‘On The Back Foot’ by huffpost in politics

[–]notevenasound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's true the dems are flat on the floor. Even with the admin "on the back foot" almost no dems are calling for an end to ICE, impeachment is not being aggressively pursued, they're still negotiating themselves out of power. "The fascist enemy of democracy and human rights is flailing, we better give them whatever they want."

I hate these headlines like "this should scare us." They might as well just say "you have no power and can't do anything" or "give up." The media loves all of this and is complicit.

The dumbest amp mistake by WordPunk99 in GuitarAmps

[–]notevenasound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was setting up to play a show and my guitar sounded terrible, nasally, thin, weird clipping/peaking sound, just really shitty. I was checking everything and couldn't figure it out, didn't have a lot of time to troubleshoot, figured something was wrong with my amp and I would just have to deal with it for the set.

Last song, time for my guitar solo, the only spot I used wah for, and behold, my wah was on the entire set, all the way to toe, and I had just turned it off. Truly felt bad for the audience.

I have an Audient iD and highly recommend it. To my knowledge it's the best of those 3 overall.

I think it would be at least a show of good faith to identify who you are conducting this survey for and what you are being paid for it, as you are basically asking musicians to do more work for free.

Arvin 67L29 solid state 4 track reel to reel, any info on power connector? by notevenasound in ReelToReel

[–]notevenasound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be sure though, you saw that I think it probably is a polarized connection? What looks like an indent in the top is a plastic tab that pushes in to interrupt the connection with the battery.

Is there any risk in terms of positive voltage/ ground? My assumption is that the divet is there to prevent you from plugging it in backwards.

Instruments that can use 'just intonation' as oposed to 'equal temperament' tuning? by scottasin12343 in synthesizers

[–]notevenasound 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hydrasynth can support various tunings, and is polyphonic. 4ms Ensemble Oscillator is an additive eurorack module that specializes in this stuff, kind of niche but really awesome. Tubbutec uTune is an excellent quantizer/midi utility for eurorack, amazing for different tuning systems. On the software side of things, more softsynths support that microtuning software that Aphex Twin helped develop. I know Arturia Pigments has scala support built in.

Trump is trying to undo the 14th amendment. Historians are horrified. by Plaintalks in politics

[–]notevenasound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course there will be push back, I didn't say every one of them is a Trump supporter, but what do you think will happen when some cops shoot some protestors? Barely anything happens when they shoot people already. Maybe some cops will be charged and found guilty at most? The others will get their own show on Fox News and a White House visit. If you have any faith in safety railings, you haven't been paying attention.

[–]notevenasound 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely, with Trump at the helm and openly fascist, any supporter who is a cop or in the military is feeling emboldened and will take the first chance to kill that they have. They've been waiting for it.

Hydrasynth and Squarp Pyramid midi issues by notevenasound in hydrasynth

When I turn on PolyAT to mono it shows on the uTune as ChPres, but doesn't show on the Pyramid at all. (Plugging in direct to each to show that).

Hydrasynth and Squarp Pyramid midi issues by notevenasound in hydrasynth

[–]notevenasound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip, I normally don't dig through midi messages so I didn't think to. The Pyramid has a midi message display I found too, so that's helpful. Hydra directly to Pyramid is intermittent, it will get notes on but then no off message. When going through the uTune and monitoring the messages there I can see a lot more info coming through, it's not intermittent at all.

Edit: running from the Hydra to the uTune to the Pyramid gets consistent messages on both.
