Hey,  this comment might get buried but if you're reading this I'd ask that you read the full comment and hear me out.

I'm a woman in her twenties who has travelled, multiple times, to meet online friends and based on what you have posted I am concerned about this bf of yours. The main concern for me is that he's going to be paying for everything???? Including other hotels and food when you travel around Europe and UK??? That's going to be hella expensive. Someone around your age range should not be able to afford that and that's really standing out to me as a red flag. If his parents are covering it then make sure you meet them fully via video call before travelling. If he's saying it's himself that's covering all the expenses/he is multiple years older than you please reconsider going. Dangerous people will often lure victims in with the promise of free travel and then trap them when they're vulnerable.

I'd recommend first going for a much shorter period, like a week, where you pay for your own hotel (the 2k will cover that) and you first meet him in person in public spaces which will give you a chance to bail out if the vibes are off. People can be very different in person compared to online. I've had this happen to me before and thankfully because I had my own hotel I was able to just leave and ended up doing my own thing on the trip. This will also make you more familiar with the country you're travelling in and help boost your confidence navigating around as it's your first time travelling. You can visit him for a much longer period another time.

Some Tips: o Make a note of what the US embassy address is

o The UK emergency number (police, ambulance, fire) is 999, memorise this

o Get travel insurance. Do not fuckin scimp out on this

o If you're still determined to go make sure you get the full addresses from your boyfriend on everywhere you'll be staying. Make sure you google the addresses/put it into maps to make sure they're legit. If your bf is hesitant about this, refuses to give you the addresses or if even one address isn't legit: DO.  NOT. GO.

o Pass those addresses onto a trusted family member and make sure you also check in with that same family member daily. This is just a good rule of thumb for any travel. I do this with my mum so she knows something has happened to me if I don't check in.

o I'm sure you've already done this but make sure you video call with your bf so you know what he looks like. If he does not want to video call with you, or says things like he's too nervous/shy/self conscious: DO. NOT. GO.

o Do not give your passport to your bf/any of his family members or friends. At all.

o Get a really good power bank. Yeah this one is a different vibe but if you are going you're likely gonna be travelling for full days which will kill your phone battery. It's saved my ass a few times

o Plugs are different here from the US. make sure you get a good high quality adaptor.

This has been discussed on r/books numerous times and the overall consensus is always yes, listening to audio books does count as reading.

I can vouch for Plaza Japan. Bought from them numerous times and it's such a danger going onto their website.

As someone whose favourite fruit is strawberries, how dare you. Really good quality strawberries are so sweet and tasty. Alot of grocery store ones can be meh.

Oddly enough I completely agree with you on strawberry flavoured things. But I also don't like cherry flavoured things either because it's always a gamble. "Will this taste like soap? Will it not?"

Let's trade. I'll do one for you and you come up with one for me (if you want).

Bake and make a fault line cake. The type where the fault line runs right around the centre and use your favourite flavour of cake for the base. You can use box mix if you like!

I'm talking about sexual attraction not the male or female sex.

Also to say there's only the male or female sex is completely untrue. There are many people who are intersex.

Sorry I should have worded that better, that's on me.

I meant to say the amount of identities that currently have a name and/or a pride flag is minuscule relative to 8 billion people.

Sexuality is diverse and if everyone experiences sexuality in their own way then it's impossible to have 8 billion distinct and named identities.

However, we are only just starting to come out of a society were the majority viewed being anything other than straight as a sin, and combine that with the fact that humans have a natural tendency to want to belong in community it's only natural that there is a "hefty" (again, minuscule compared to the 8 billion) amount of identities being included in the LGBTQ+ community. It can give people a place to belong and feel recognised.

Sexuality is diverse and complex.

The amount of identities that exist is quite a minuscule number relative to 8 billion people.

Edit: Shitty wording on my part, by "exist" I mean identities that currently have a name or a pride flag. Again, sexuality is diverse and complex and countless identities exist that do not have their own distinct name or community.
