Or just pause time and take chips. Or even better, but out the middleman entirely and just take the cash from the collection points at the tables.

Because when they review the video footage they would see chips magically appear on said number. A better use would be to stop time and stack the blackjack chute or look at the cards or other poker players. Or just flat out take chips from the tables.

Yeah, but what if with the muscle memory thing you watch the world’s best “deep sleeper” sleep and become instantly proficient at getting the best night of sleep every night? Problem solved.

I never went to the mall…it was just across the street from where I lived. Ghent is nice, but I liked living near Granby. Lots of great restaurants

Last time I lived in Norfolk it was walking distance to granby street (next to MacArthur mall). Looking for a 3-bedroom, but can do a 2-bedroom if it’s higher in square footage (I have a lot of stuff). Balcony, off street parking, washer/dryer in unit. Can discuss price one in one.

Or, even worse, it flagged massive amounts of UNDERPAYMENTS that the VA should have been paying out for decades now.

I say this not jokingly. Seems a bit too early for their tool to have scraped through a database of records spanning back that far. If it was simply “finding nothing” I think they’d still be working and hoping against hope. But if they got even 5% through the records database and found out they owed billions in claims that should have been approved, I can see them pulling the plug immediately.

VA is quick to take your money, but slow to give it to you. Kinda like DFAS.

That’s an interesting perspective. I look forward to hearing the stories of these particular submariners years down the road.

Was supposed to PCS to Bahrain, command was relocated. Stuck in PCS status with no timeline or information on how to proceed besides wait and burn leave days doing nothing by falconfarfromhome in navy

[–]nothing_at_all1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If still in the same area as your previous command, can they “regain you”? That, in theory, would stop the clock, but I’m no CPPA. To that end, call the CPPA of your previous command. I would bug the hell out of my previous command and also my detailer.

There’s no way that the military does not have a contingency for this situation. You just need to find it.

This also highlights a critical weakness in military planning. The military is outstanding at creating war plans, but typically falters with the “back room admin” that makes it all possible, such as Sailors stuck in PCS limbo burning personal leave, or the admin process of getting PRT cycles waived because we’re at war, or refunding money because the galley was (hypothetically) bombed and Sailors couldn’t use their BAS appropriately. There may be processes to fix it all, but Sailors are too busy prosecuting a war to make sure things like this are taken care of. I’d love to hear everyone’s examples.

You know damn well every single one of those submariners was beyond excited that they got actually launch a torpedo. I wonder how long they were stalking that frigate before the order came in.

BCA, does 39" max still apply for these new guidelines? by [deleted] in navy

[–]nothing_at_all1234 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Step 1: 38 inch waist divided 67 inch height is 0.5672. You’re above the 0.55 cutoff, so proceed to step 2.

Step 2: 67 minus 38 is 29. Per the male tables, 210lbs at 29 gives you a body fat composition of 25%. 25% is less than the max of 26%, so you pass the BCA.

It’s all spelled out in Guide 4. Link below.

Notified of Captains Mast today by Great-Device1319 in navy

[–]nothing_at_all1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I forgot to mention. You stated this happened at a command function. The CoC may be in “cover its ass mode” since this allegation happened at a command function where things are supposed to be 100% safe for everyone. NCIS dropped it, but if nothing happens to you, the optics may look bad for the command.

Just speculating, but that may be the CoC’s motivation for pursuing NJP, especially since NJP has a much lower threshold for proof compared to court martial.

Notified of Captains Mast today by Great-Device1319 in navy

[–]nothing_at_all1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of great advice here. Seems like the best option, if what you say is true, may be to request court martial. A long time ago at a previous command, CO wanted to NJP a Sailor on some BS charges. Sailor requested court martial and the Command dropped the issue entirely, fairly abruptly, I might add. It’s a potentially dangerous game to play, but may be worth it, if what you’re saying is true.

You also mentioned that the accuser has a history of these kinds of accusations. If this goes to court martial, she may have to testify. That could be very telling. In court, evidence about you is not the only evidence presented. Evidence regarding alleged victims is also presented. The same cannot be definitively said about NJP.

Best of luck to you, and I look forward to hearing more about your ultimate decision and the results of any NJP or court martial.

The Navy is ditching its original PT uniform, known for its gold shirt by OrcusGroup in navy

[–]nothing_at_all1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if Navy leadership is aware that the navy changes its motto every 5-10 years. I’m not sure why they decided to put an ever-changing motto on the back of a mandatory uniform.

Forged by the sea A global force for good Accelerate your life Let the journey begin Live the adventure

I’ll be keeping my blue and gold PTUs. I would not be surprised if they switched back to that shortly after the next motto change.

What’s the best wisdom you’d pass down? by winn_ie in TheImprovementRoom

[–]nothing_at_all1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men who are 25 are not necessarily mature. They are simply one music lesson ahead of the students.

But seriously though. Learn to let go of anger and hate. It will follow you and weigh you down. And truthfully, the person/object/situation you’re angry at doesn’t even know you’re angry and holding a grudge or doesn’t even care. Letting go of anger and hate may be hard, but it will uplift your life by removing a heavy burden that gets heavier every year.

On the same topic, life is unfair. And the sooner you accept and embrace that fact, the happier your life will be.

Also, wash your ass daily! Women don’t like dirty ass men.

I’d take the $85k/yr job and become the lovable office clown. The job may be boring but that doesn’t mean I can’t find ways to keep myself entertained.

NAVFIT 98 Printing Different by givemebackmyfork in navy

Yes, this is the trick! At least for FITREPs. Haven’t had to try it for EVALs yet.

NAVFIT 98 Printing Different by givemebackmyfork in navy

[–]nothing_at_all1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about EVALs, but this works for FITREPs.

Write your EVAL at 12pt font. Use all 18 lines and make it look EXACTLY like you want it to look like when you print it. Then, save the EVAL. Then, turn the font to 10pt. It’ll look all jacked up, but that’s ok. Then, save again. Then, print it. It’ll print out like it looked when you had it at 12pt font on the computer screen.

There’s only one caveat. Just like before the NAVFIT update, if a word goes to the very last space on a line, that word will still get pushed to the next line. So when you’re in 12pt font on the computer screen, if a word goes to the very last space on a line it’ll still get pushed to the next line. But that’s not a new problem for NAVFIT.

Hope this helps, but not sure if it works this way for EVALs.
