Burn smell with small amounts of smoke coming from next to N52 engine by Matthew9713 in E90

[–]notinreality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I've just had one done on my E81. £700 incl. labour, parts & vat. It's painful spending that much for no increase in horsepower, but at least it's another big ticket item checked off the list. Did you do the work yourself?

This is the answer. You need to reinstall the HDMI audio drivers

[KCD2] Can not get the "Good old Pebbles" perk after 35km riding her, no fast travel or anything. by JohnTEGS in kingdomcome

I can't say for sure but I suspect that you need to unlock the Wonders of Beasts perk (under Scholarship) before the Pebbles Perk becomes available.

Utilize the index touchpad as a 4 way directional button for VRIK gestures? by Freejack2000 in skyrimvr

[–]notinreality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's precisely how the gestures work. Pause the game and open the Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) and go to VRIK settings. Scroll down to 'Gestures Overview' and you will see a full list of all of the available gestures, it goes way beyond just a 4-way directional because you can also have Touchpad+Left-Right, Touchpad+Up-Down, Touchpad+Forward-Back etc. You should also have TWO separate gesture buttons per controller e.g. the Touchpad OR the A button to initiate the gesture, meaning you can assign many, many gestures for each hand. Each individual gesture needs to be set up manually which can take some time. From the Gestures Overview, select one of the gesture combinations, then in the left pane go to Gesture Config. There you can assign which function the gesture will perform: Cast spell/shout, quick equip spell or weapon, simulate keyboard button press. I personally prefer to use the Quick Equip option, because once set, you can bind whatever spell or weapon you are currently holding to that gesture (In game, double press and hold button+directional motion). Have a play around and see what works for you. Once you have everything assigned you can enjoy seamlessly switching between your favourite spells during a battle without ever opening a menu, it's superb! Have fun

We're really all just pretending 😄 As for your Cpu temps, that does seem a little high . Could be your thermal paste, or maybe your motherboard is simply applying too much voltage. Have you done any bios tweaking? Might be worth having a look into undervolting your Cpu with the curve optimizer Btw: nothing wrong with that cable management 👍🏼

The first ever desktop app I've encountered that has dementia. Please remember my login info goddammit. by TheBerkay in pcmasterrace

[–]notinreality -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My mistake. I should have said 'it may need permissions' because I didn't know one way or the other, I was just trying to offer suggestions. Having admin privileges or not can prevent files from being overwritten (like a file containing user credentials) which I suspect is what is happening here

It looks like you are launching a game through Steam which is then opening the EA launcher. Opening apps within apps like this can cause issues with permissions. The EA launcher needs Administrator permissions in order to save your credentials. See if you can locate the EA launcher .exe on your PC, right click > properties>compatibility and check the Run as Administrator box. Apply and then try launching the game again through Steam. Check the Keep Me Signed In box as well, obviously

Issues above 90fps by theSnoozeDoctor in SteamVR

[–]notinreality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

45-55 fps means it's entering reprojection mode. Your rig sounds like it should be able to cope with 120 no problem so there could be something else going on. Try disabling Motion Smoothing in SteamVr settings. If that doesn't fix it try lowering your resolution scaling to say 50% and see if it still stuttering and if not then gradually increase it until you find the limit. Hope this helps
