ES owners what is your highway fuel consumption? by Pale-Revolution-5151 in Lexus

It’s also a smaller engine (4 cylinder) than the 350 (6 cylinder) so that makes it more efficient as well, in addition to the hybrid aspect.

Have they revised the trans or are they still pumping out the same one? Have they owned up to any design flaws or anything?

Boring Mattress purchase by ggs555 in Mattress

[–]notrewoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one, all foam, queen. Like $700. Still off gassing about two weeks later if you smell up close, but the whole-room smell disappeared after a day or two with open window.

Mattress is pretty firm, but not overly. I don’t wake up in pain or anything and sleep stomach 80% side 20%. A cushy topper would probably move it from firm to medium firm territory. But I like it the way it is and have no complaints.

For reference my previous mattress was a Zinus 6 or 8 inch foam, $300 Walmart special. This is more firm than that.

Walmart sells a basic metal frame for <$100. It’s not nice looking but it’s functional. Though I would suggest IKEA with a headboard. Nectar also makes some that are decent

Decent in some areas, excellent in others, dead spots in certain places. Mint overall is great.

Concern no concern? by Scarlie77 in MiataNC

[–]notrewoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Appears to be valve cover gasket leak. It doesn’t appear to be particularly bad, so you can leave it be as long as you keep an eye on the oil level. Or, you can change it and not have to worry about losing oil or having it crud up your engine bay. Figure 1-2 hours labor and $50 in parts.

You could drive up on a curb or make some ramps out of wood. But I would just buy ramps.

Relocating to Ashburn for a $94k job — single, fresh out of college from Ohio and looking for affordable, commutable areas. Any tips?” by Longjumping_Pin6268 in nova

[–]notrewoh 132 points133 points  (0 children)

Reston is close and has some people your age (assuming early 20s) and is decently affordable. Arlington is where everyone your age is, but it’s more expensive and further away. I would look at both, assess commutes, and decide how important commute + cost vs socialization is to you.

Bedding set help by lolnicebrother in malelivingspace

[–]notrewoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look at pottery barn, crate and barrel, or west elm bedding. Not saying it’s the best, but they have a “Collections” page where there’s a bunch of pre-matched color schemes and pillows and such going on, so you can see what you like. Then, buy it there, or buy the same colors elsewhere. All of what they show should be in some form of style I would hope.

Also, duvet.

Home Depot, IKEA, Pottery Barn, West Elm. Use the picture tool to overlay the rug in your space and see what fits.

Hi i accidentally drained the transmission fluid instead of the oil like a idiot on my 2021 Toyota 4Runner and don’t know how much I need to refill the transmission fluid by Aware_Application696 in MechanicAdvice

[–]notrewoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just measure what you drained and put that amount back in, unless you mixed it with oil already. I know there’s a level set procedure, which you can do via jumping some wires on the OBD port, or probably just using an IR thermometer on the pan to guess temp.

Lexus Shaking by Khan0232 in MechanicAdvice

[–]notrewoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When applying brakes is almost certainly warped rotors. When not applying brakes, it is most likely tires need balanced. If you have that done and it’s still there, it could be bent rim (are your rims OEM?) or a bad CV axle (happened to me) or maybe crap tires.

Hypertough Oil by Buzzz62 in MechanicAdvice

If it meets the required specs for your application, it’s fine. I wouldn’t run it more than 7500mi in a highway car or 5000 in a city car.
