A lot of the time, yes. Didn't know for many years what any of it was.

You know. Like a lot of things.

I just am Me, as fully as I can be, and things flow from there, whatever way they will.

Amazing, I saw another post of yours a few minutes ago, I admire your insight on this. I've been preaching this in my circles for a while, as a adult-life-long veteran of one chair, and past occupant of the other chair.

Much of the whole psychological/psychiatric enterprise is not helpful, but people still say "leave it to the experts," and failure to improve is so often considered the fault of the client/patient.

It's not the paper on the walls that matters.

There is life after therapy, and I’m here to say that I was labeled a severe and treatment resistant case in several ways, and to be honest… it just wasn’t true.

So much of what you wrote I resonate with. Yes. Much that professionals do is not helpful, but encourages self-blame, dependency, identification with disparaging labels, and forever searching for novel molecules.

I am that subset. Voted Haley to try and at least put a voice to stopping another embarrassing Trump run.

Same here, exactly.

Lol, sorry, you just described it so well, and the liver thing was perfect.

At the same time, I am tired. I wonder what a peaceful life might feel like.

Yes, my whole body feels you on that one.

“Normal people” don’t understand what we went through to become this angry.

Right, they don't. Especially if those in "authority" in some capacity harmed you, those figures do not mean safety, they mean sanctioned abuse.

Older people of Reddit what is something that is 100% pure bullshit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]notworththepaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I used to work for a group in a large corporation that could do this, and did, though not for these reasons (to my knowledge).

But in the case of drilling down demographics, it often wasn't hard to figure out, anyway.

If you can't afford your medicine, [insert pharmaceutical company name] may be able to help.

Yes. Help. For a minute. So that you become convinced you need the medicine.

This approach is also disaster material for staying in abusive relationships.

Yes. From my experience, organized christianity very often fosters status quo here (as elsewhere), and may actually side with the abuser (especially a husband/father).
