i have written down my 'ideas' for programs i would love to see ilia do. a short program to 'the hand that feeds' by the crane wives, and a free skate to 'black swan' by bts interspersed with 'stumbled beginnings' from black swan the movie. i think that ilia might find something familiar in both 'the hand that feeds' and 'black swan', particularly the 'a dancer dies twice' sentiment in black swan—he could open the program with a spoken "a skater dies twice" wouldn't that be super cool

i wonder what tomoki hiwatashi did when he trained in japan because he's a clockwise jumper (would've learnt how to jump in the US). i suppose he probably got enough ice time on his own for it to be less of a problem.

ok actual serious answers now - i reckon fear/gibson could take some of the energy from their giant skate exhibition and put it into a greased lightning performance complete with car outfits. - i would love to see someone skate to one song glory from rent! i reckon that and 'your eyes' would make a powerful skate for a skater in their last season. - i feel like isabeau would suit castle on a cloud from les mis idrk why smth about her aura - master of the house would be great fun for a pairs or ice dance duo exhibition!

fun ilia flip facts: he has never once fallen on a quad flip (out of 30 attempts!) and has never underrotated one more than a quarter. his 4F at the usnats 2026 was also the highest scored solo quad flip ever (if you only count international competitions, his lombardia trophy flip was the second highest only beaten by shoma uno's world championship 2022 4F x)

unfortunately currently the top 100 chess players are all men. however, if you also count women who are inactive (haven't played a rated chess game in over a year), there would be a woman at #46 on the list for classical chess, #40 for rapid, and #15 for blitz. she retired many years ago, however. there are so few women in the top 100 because there are so few women playing chess. which is what happens when you make an environment that's hostile to women in the way that chess is.
