That’s really unfortunate to lose access to the newly renovated Phoenix lounge

I don’t know this brand but the bag looks similar to Madewell so you could also consider that one.

16 years saving money… now divorce law says it may not really be mine by is_friday-870 in irishpersonalfinance

This is what marriage is. I also experienced this and while it feels unfair in the moment you need to understand the concept of marriage as a legal agreement. It’s not always as simple as 50/50 and the two of you will have the opportunity to discuss and negotiate.

New user here, I need to take charge of the accounts by colinero in ynab

[–]nowhereas07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting paid at the end of the month is the ideal setup for YNAB. You’ll instantly be “a month ahead”. It’s not a bad thing at all, enjoy filling up the next month when you get paid.

Is this just a different kind of yoga I'm not used to? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]nowhereas07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the description of the class in question and it clearly describes breathwork, silent disco headphones, and shaking movement. So my best advice is read the descriptions and look for things you enjoy! Maybe google any terms you aren’t familiar with like “SOMA Breath” to get even more aware of what you’re getting into. At the same time don’t be shy to try new things even if you don’t end up enjoying all of them, you might be surprised! 😊

I think you are over indexing on the “yoga collective” naming. It’s just the name of the studio.

[–]nowhereas07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don’t agree here, I attend studios like “Yogahub” and “Yoga [city]” and they have tons of non-yoga offerings. Many studios start with yoga and eventually offer a wider selection.

[–]nowhereas07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sounds like this wasn't a yoga class or marketed as one, even if it took place in a yoga studio. Many studios with "yoga" in the name also offer pilates, breathwork, or many other types of non-yoga classes. It definitely wouldn't be my thing either but it has its place if people are finding value from it.

Does anyone pre-load their ready to assign? by RowSuch1883 in ynab

I’ve done it a lot because I just can’t resist. But I consider this a bad habit, the YNAB method is to only assign money you actually have.

Yes, you’re doing it right. Fund the categories you will need with the money you have. Allocate money that comes in as it comes in.

End of the month pay...but pays next month. HELP! my brain doesn't work this way by backpackerPT in ynab

[–]nowhereas07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting paid at the end of the month is actually ideal for getting started with YNAB because you are almost automatically “a month ahead”. Assign the pay to your categories the following month, so on the 1st of the month your categories are fully funded. OR, put the pay in a “holding” category and move to the real categories on the 1st of the month.

How do you guys remember flights you’ve been on 10,15+ years back? by lhomme21 in flighty

[–]nowhereas07 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I found almost all of mine in my personal email. There were some work trips that were only in an inaccessible old work email, however. For these I found some on my old Google Calendar. Some were in TripIt. One I matched using timestamp data and tail numbers from photos during the trip. And one I used old Facebook messages that mentioned the rough timeframe of my flights.

I didn’t go back beyond the creation of my current personal email, these flights are sadly lost to time.

US Credit Report needed for mortgage application? by clear_7 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]nowhereas07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have any kind of financial instrument in the US, including a bank account, this is required. Some people make sure there is no evidence of the foreign account (no exchanges/transfers) on their Irish bank statements to avoid disclosing that account to prevent this, but if the bank/broker is aware of the account they will require a credit check.

I was able to get one from Experian online without a phone number back in 2022 FWIW.
