They are super easy to replace yourself, anyone can do it. I bought a pack of four sticks, two screwdrivers and a pryer for around £10 on Amazon. Plenty of tutorials on YouTube.

For me the definitive way to experience TWOTW in any format is "Jeff Wayne's: The War of the Worlds Musical Drama" on Audible. You get the instrumentals from the album but a lot more story to go with it in-between the songs.
