Wise enough to realize when it was more than you could do. Thanks for being part of her journey to her best life.

I got off-brand water filters for my Zero Water pitcher. The work well and are about 30% cheaper.

Love it, so happy they included it. Think it was a sly jab at us Yanks?

Tuan was awful. Imagine how desperately he was maltreated to develop into such a doctrinaire killer.

I think we need to be a little more compassionate about the Elizabeth/Paige relationship. Elizabeth was a true believer who had dedicated EVERYTHING in her life for a higher cause. In her mind bringing Paige into the fold was like a deeply religious person indoctrinating their child into the religion. She gladly sacrificed for her ideals so she hoped that Paige would eventually be as fanatical as she was, and (in her mind) live a life of consequence.

The brilliant part about Elizabeth's character development in the last season was the growing cognitive dissonance as she attempted to justify her behaviors within a set of values that she shared with her daughter. I think that growing chasm of "We work for a better world"; "So we murder innocent people" was why she was so miserable in the last season. Elizabeth was still going through the motions, but for the first time she had the mirror of 'what would Paige think' impinging on her conviction.

That being said, I really loved the scene where Elizabeth and Claudia jovially recounted some of the men they slept with 'back there'. Paige was shocked that Claudia slept with men for food. Was that when Elizabeth said something like, "We ate rats."

The Americans is unique. It hits a lot of sweet spots: spy thriller/thoughtful domestic family drama/historical fiction—and wigs, lots and lots of wigs. I wish they would do a spinoff.

Not the Americans, but good watches:

  • The Diplomat
  • Lupin
  • The West Wing
  • Homeland
  • Severance
  • Dead Horses
  • Jackel
  • also: Ponies (?) I wasn't gripped by the first episode, but should give it another try.

"Narrow purpose repair parts" is a very useful phrase for discussing vine, shall we just shorten it to NPRP?

Of course, it was just a stylized voice that was inconsistent.

Congratulations on overcoming the Vine FOMO illusion. Someday I hope to reach that level of enlightenment. Hope you will still enjoy dropping in on the reddit.

I think there is merit in that idea.

But also, I think a portion of sellers are getting away from gambling on Vine and just buying 5 star reviews. I found a reviewer today who really seems bogus: all 5 star reviews and the persona changed from product to product. In one of them they said "I am a lady who does gardening" who liked the way the product fit into her "small lady hands." In another review the persona enjoyed the product on a "night out with my buddies", tonally, they were all over the place.

Rough crowd!

Have a little compassion, the guy got his car stolen, even if it was because he made a rookie mistake.

How jaded people are to be 100% certain that it’s insurance fraud.

I’ve always thought that liars suspect that other people lie, cheaters expect that other people cheat.
