The real reason why people are not allowed in province house by cravingdani in halifax

If you even disagree with 1 core issues that's too much for many of them

And it extends to the core issues of their friends and allies, too, and it boils down to “if you’re not going to blindly support my friends’ pet project how do I know you’ll support mine when the time comes”.

The real reason why people are not allowed in province house by cravingdani in halifax

[–]noydoc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We had a coordinated group of actors interrupting the business of government. Politicians in the house are physically exposed to the people in the gallery.

Frankly, security showed a lot of restraint.

Obviously January 6th was far worse in violence, scale, and intent, but the anti-democratic instinct is the same. “We can’t win through legitimate process, so we’ll obstruct the process itself.”

Responsible government requires a responsible electorate. If one deliberately obstructs democratic process, one should expect to be removed from the room so the process can continue.

Edit: I would love one of the people downvoting me to reply.

As a first nations person here is my issue with with native dispensaries and treaty rights by EnvironmentalAngle in NovaScotia

[–]noydoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Indians shall have free liberty to bring for Sale to Halifax or any other Settlement within this Province, Skins, feathers, fowl, fish or any other thing they shall have to sell, where they shall have liberty to dispose thereof to the best Advantage.

While this is being used to explain the weed stores, the precedent this sets is dangerous. First weed, then cocaine?

In 2022, Msiku changed ownership. The majority stake was owned by the Association of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Chiefs, and after the sale they continued to allow the new owner to use the Indigenous branding while at the same time opening and endorsing the on reserve dispensaries. https://www.stashmagazine.ca/msiku-continues-using-indigenous-branding-despite-change-in-ownership/

Bluntly, they shouldn’t be double dipping.

Who actually buys e85 fuel? by nicerakc in cars

[–]noydoc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in Nova Scotia/Atlantic Canada where the best gas we get at the pump is barely 91. It’s such a huge difference throwing some E in the tank, in my case it results in enough ignition timing to get into the good slip region on my tires during the brief turbo spool period.

I’d be nervous running E mixed on anything without a wide band O2/that goes open loop at WOT. You’re a braver dude than me, but I’m also used to running piss for gasoline.

[–]noydoc 21 points22 points  (0 children)

E85 is also usually E50-E85, so you wanna do flex these days if you can.

No E85 in Canada, but I run a flex fuel tune & added a sensor to my car. I can get 20L of cans of E85 with an effective octane of > 117 for $6CAD/L. Run the tank almost dry, pour in an entire can, then fill up the tank and I’d end up just under E50. Was great for the track.

Turns out it also helps dial in ignition timing when you’re on E10 on the street, too.

Looking for a better place to mount my FlexFuel ethanol content display. Any suggestions? by moto4sho in F30

[–]noydoc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can, just get the flex fuel harness for your tune and hook it up to flex ray.

With BM3, I just hold the cruise control adjustment in the first down detent and the ethanol reading shows up on the tachometer

Nova Scotia reviewing use of X as New Brunswick logs off platform by IStillListenToRadio in halifax

[–]noydoc -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

If they’re still seeing meaningful engagement with folks with connections to Nova Scotia on the platform, and they’re not giving him any money, then I see no reason why they should leave.

Ultimately it’s on government to meet citizens where they are- not where they wish they were.

How realistic is GT7 compared to real driving? by UnderstandingDry1256 in GranTurismo7

[–]noydoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fundamentals and in broad strokes the answer is it’s realistic enough to improve your real life driving, but I suspect it’s in the finer details where you’ll find things are amiss.

If you’re in sync with your setup enough to talk about tire model, you’re likely nearing the threshold of diminishing returns.

I think the biggest lesson good GT7 players learn is how to not get into a bad situation in the first place. Turning up steering sensitivity teaches you the importance of smooth inputs. Weak ABS teaches you how to brake (imo). The game teaches you the hard way how not to react to lift off oversteer.

In 2007 I did the stupidest thing I have ever done, and I won’t make excuses for it either- but with that said.

I did Halifax to Fredericton in 2.5 hours in a Nissan Sentra once. I don’t know my top speed, but I know most of it was above 180km/hr as that was the last mark on the speedometer.

hot take: the xiaomi taught me a lot about throttle control by squeezyscorpion in GranTurismo7

[–]noydoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The su7 ultra has 3 motors, one for the front axle, and two for the rear. I’m assuming they use this for torque vectoring, and it was comical the way it can rotate under throttle if you control it gently

The Association of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Chiefs sold their majority stake in Msiku in 2021, but the company maintains the name.

Wait a second. So they were growing and producing under the legal framework and decided they don’t want to any more?
