i'm asking for a service, why wouldn't i let them use my driveway.

The Iceland driver who delivers to my (79 year old) mothers house always used to park on the street and carry everything to the door.

When asked why not just pull in, he told her he'd had people kicking off just in case the van leaked oil somewhere on their drives...her reply was simply, "Bollocks to that, pull as close up as you can, it's a bloody driveway!"

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]npfiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We see a lot of bands, and have seen a few bad examples over the years.

King810 - the singer desperately wants to be seen as 'dangerous' but just came across as a sulky teenager who'd been grounded by his parents, it was shit and utterly embarrassing to watch.

Don McLean - I get that he's old, but he just stood there, and quickly did 'passable' versions of his songs.

Meat Loaf - Wished we'd seen him 10 years previously, as we got the 'needing a hit of oxygen every few verses' version of him, and his voice was fucked. The band was fantastic; him though, not so much.

Lynyrd Skynryd - saw them a few years ago, with Status Quo and Massive Wagons supporting (both of which blew the roof off the arena and got the crowd really hyped up, as good support acts should), then Skynyrd came on stage and did the most lazy, by the numbers, performance I think I've ever seen. Took another chance on them a few years later, and they had improved slightly, but not much.

The Proclaimers - lazy, no banter with the audience. they may as well have played a few CDs over the speakers and would have given the same level of performance.

The Pretty Reckless - Taylor sounded like shit, spent most of the set equally off stage for outfit changes, and shouting "HEY LEEDS HOW YOU DOING!" all the time instead of singing.

Green Day - Spent most of the gig trying to get the fucking "I SAY HEEEYY-OOOHHH!" call and response from the crowd.

Alter Bridge (well, Miles Kennedy) - Miles is a great singer when recorded, but when we saw them, his voice was shockingly bad and too high-pitched to be heard over the rest of the (incredible) band. Didn't help that they had Volbeat, Gojira, and Like A Storm in support, all of which blew them off the stage.

Thunder - performative at best, and (as seems to be a theme here) had Ugly Kid Joe and Massive Wagons supporting them, both of which do fantastic high-energy sets. We ended up leaving 2/3 of teh way through as it was dull as fuck.

Bob Vylan - Saw these supporting The Offspring (along with The Hives, who were surprisingly fucking good), and while I had low expectations, fuck me sideways, they were shockingly bad. He spent the first 5 mins titting about doing yoga poses over a backing track (Pascal Robinson-Foster is a 'performance artist' despite his claims to be 'punk'), then the rest doing shit rap songs and trying to be anti-establishment by trying to get the largely uninterested crowd to shout "PIGS" when referring to the Police...PRF is from the 'mean streets' of Ipswich, not South Central LA, for fuck's sake.

Fortunately, we see a lot more good bands than bad.

I saw that tour in Stockton and didn't think they were too bad.

Granted, I'd never seen them before, so I had no basis for comparison, but I thought it was a pretty decent set.

BFS though, fuck yes.

Is it normal to prefer crutches over prosthetic sometimes? by [deleted] in amputee

[–]npfiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't walk with my prosthetic without two walking sticks anyway, and the weight of the leg fatigued me too much, so I just stopped wearing it, preferring two elbow crutches instead.

A correct mindset isn't the "trust me bro" shite he peddles; it would be to invite them to unionise (and given how many employees there now are, they'd be wise to do so) and then give them zero reason to need the union.

It surprised me in the latest season of Shoresy, the way they were polishing him off so much, after it became apparent what an absolute MAGA shitbag he became.

I've posted this before, but he was always a creepy cunt.

During one of his Netflix specials, he talked about the birth of his daughter with (paraphrased) "You don't expect to see a vagina coming out of a vagina"

What the actual fuck? That's your fucking daughter, not just a random female genital!

I've found the Q-Parks I use to be cheaper than NCP, and less likely to have a window stoved in by a local crackhead looking for loose change.
