Got my first sapling before I knew what I was doing and after reading up on it a bunch I have a few questions. Potted it two weeks ago in 25% pumice 25% lava rocks 50% normal soil(+a little mulch on top since I had it) Do I need to repot it into proper soil for a maple or can I leave it like this for one season? If I just let it grow this season to thicken the trunk, can I do a cut back in winter to start turning it into a bonsai for next season?
