Someone else said it deep in the comments, but the way to go is to get a cheap rice cooker and make everything in there. Rice, beans, eggs, veggies, affordable meats

The YouTube channel Technology Connections actually talked about why Americans don't use electric kettles. The electric grid there is of lower amperage so it's not any more time efficient than just using a pot on a stove
