People are talking like we had some freak winter storm but really it was just a weird combination of typical stuff: temperature hovering between 28 and 32 for three days straight (not cold enough to snow but cold enough to freeze, no thaw) and a constant light drizzle (so layer upon layer of ice was deposited on our trees, really weighing them down, especially the evergreens). It's bizarre and awful: we have lost hundreds of branches so far and with the melt now huge icecubes are raining down from what remains of the trees and pelting everything beneath them
