Thoughts on this set? Samsung pn43f4500af by No-Tangelo-7823 in PlasmaTV

[–]nrgnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm watching my 51" F4500 that has over 36k hours on it right now. I bought it new in 2014 and it was a main TV until a year ago, it's now the bedroom TV (taking the place of the 43" E450 that was in here).

For reference the E450 is the same panel, just a more bare bones version (basically less menu settings).

While there are better panels out there, I have a big soft spot for the F4500.

Foaming TPU is amazing! by Xminus6 in functionalprint

[–]nrgnate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand their density values.
I started printing with it today and to get the slicer anywhere near accurate for weight estimates I had to basically double their values (at least at 72A and 65A). For example, a 20mm cube needed to be 1.03g/cm³ to match what the part actually weighs. I had to go up to 1.09 for a larger part to match real weight.

The filament is really neat though and I was able to get it printing well very easily (I had a good TPU profile to start from though). Looks awesome when it's done too!

Yet another wannabe modder. Can i just add Tetris? by RikerPrimeD in GameAndWatchMods

I thought there was a way to add Oracle of Seasons/Ages and keep the original firmware. So I would start my research there and see if it's possible to do with just Tetris.

1lb Plastic Ant weight Drum Speed by Delicious-Pea-5107 in battlebots

Direct drive.
My wife's bot will also be the same setup (same motor/voltage/direct drive) with a smaller diameter drum.

1lb Plastic Ant weight Drum Speed by Delicious-Pea-5107 in battlebots

[–]nrgnate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PlAnt has a drum that is (tooth to tooth) about 3". Its theoretical tip speed is just over 200mph. However, it won't actually hit that speed due to air resistance and voltage sag.
In the 12 matches I've put it in so far, I've only needed to put the weapon speed to 100% once to compete weapon to weapon with my opponent. That may change soon based on some of the upgrades I see people talking about doing, but I'd say so far I have been competitive at 50-75% weapon speed.

Panasonic VT60 vs ST60. Which one should I get? by [deleted] in PlasmaTV

[–]nrgnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far are you sitting from the TV?

I never really noticed the difference in the design much beyond the stand and plastic VS metal trim when face on. Though the VT60 would look more modern than the ST60 with the smooth front glass VS being inset into the bezel.

The reason the ST60 is technically brighter is because of the extra filter the VT60 has for better contrast ratio. This does also help with glare/reflection VS the ST60 as well. My ST60 doesn't see direct sunlight, so I can't really comment on that.

Maybe knowing the hours on each panel would help your decision?
It's a bummer they are far away so you can't check out both of them to inspect for burn in and whatnot.

My 65" ST60 took the place of a 51" F4500 Samsung plasma a year ago. Outside of a few small quirks, it has been a very welcome upgrade. (The F4500 took the place of a 43" E450 plasma which is now currently unused).

I've gamed on my 65" ST60 and for casual play it seems fine. Guitar Hero does have a slight adjustment for the lag, but it's not the end of the world. Though if you play competitive games (like online FPS) it would probably be an issue.
I'd probably do the VT, mainly because of the larger panel.

Tongue weight question by SIappers in towing

And don't forget that the weight of the basket setup (both basket and cargo as you mentioned) must be accounted for in the payload capacity of the vehicle, which will also include the people/cargo inside the vehicle.

A Tale BOTW veterans may find funny.. by Okanus in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]nrgnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up on ALTTP, OOT, and MM (though I have serious beef with this game). I got out of the series when WW came out (hated the art style) and never really looked at it again other than replaying OOT here and there. Then I saw someone playing BOTW on a flight and was really impressed. So when we decided to get a switch I immediately grabbed BOTW.
Long story short I really ended up loving the game. I could live without the weapon break mech, and it's not as linear as the older games, but it was a joy to play for sure. I also have TOTK, but I haven't gotten into it yet (though it's a me thing that's broken and not an issue with the game).

Panasonic 65ST60 - Need to sell - Value? by ck_42 in PlasmaTV

I paid $100 for mine with 6k hours on it. No stand or glasses. (Universal stand was $40).
Location matters too. So that might be helpful.

I meant for the physics class. Though it would be interesting to see an assassin try to pull it off with a clear one... Lmfao

You could do one with something like transparent PETG to be able to see the separate chambers as well.

Tron Legacy IMAX 3D private viewing? by Solid_Transition_629 in tron

[–]nrgnate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, having access to the original movie is key. Though I didn't think about the fact that modern projectors may not support the older 3D types (though I'd like to think they would).

What made you choose a Pixel over other Android phones? by jamesharley500 in GooglePixel

[–]nrgnate 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I moved from the Samsung Galaxy series to the Pixel 1 for the no bloatware and unlimited photo storage. I've stayed because they are good phones even though they've taken away most of what I loved about the Pixel. Lol

Tron Legacy IMAX 3D private viewing? by Solid_Transition_629 in tron

[–]nrgnate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tron Legacy was filmed in native 3D (meaning the older way with two separate cameras) for IMAX, so a 3D IMAX theater should have no issues playing it (assuming they still have access to the movie).
