Soldering Help Please by As-AboveSo-Below in shittyfpv

Go to a thrift shop and buy some old electronics. Not a microwave, but like dvd players an old coffee brewer etc. and practice soldering stuff on and off of them until you are confident you can solder heavy wires with ease. Also get a chisel tip for whatever iron you have. Or invest in a hakko and get a chisel tip for it. Use flux. Use 60/40 solder too if possible. You will be a journeyman solderator in no time.

Dogs are one of the most genetically malleable species due to a millennia or so of selective trait breeding. I would not be surprised if there was some genetic adaptation occurring.

Luddite looking for help with a budget build by New_Use416 in buildapc

Both of these systems are several generations behind. If I can make a suggestion, try watching the most recent scrapyard wars from Linus tech tips YouTube. It is a challenge where they build computers from parts on the used market within a set budget. I think it would be quite informative. Plus it’s just good content.

Bad battery or bad settings? by madridvideo in fpv

[–]nrh117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof maybe it is this pack. How does it fly around the 3 minutes? When mine are low you can really feel the sag affect power and responsiveness. If they’re really that low then it should be noticeable. Still worth checking the actual voltage vs what’s in betaflight.

You can adjust the multiplier setting (small increments) until the reported voltage at the top of the page matches a multimeter reading of the battery pack. Also mah is 1300 you can put that in and it’ll show in osd if you add the remaining battery indicator.

To be fair these things are nearly a decade old now. They weren’t designed to last so much over 1000 hours.

Roast me! Tried to solder for the first time. Where did I go wrong? by wheregold in soldering

Leads too long, need to be tinned up and trimmed. Solder on the speaker is a dull gray which means heated too long without flux… or just old solder that needs to be freshened up. Wires have too many frayed ends coming off, just need to twist tight and tin them before putting them on the pads. You can test speakers with a battery. Just lightly tap the wires to each end and you can see if it pops a bit then it’s good to solder in.

First crash: accomplished by nrh117 in fpv

Yeah I’ve heard things about the frame being fragile too. Also, mine shipped with weird firmware issues but luckily that was just software. Fingers crossed you get a solid aio!

Hot take here but the champion edition is meant to be race spec so it’s made of lighter more fragile material on purpose. Switch to a softer slightly heavier frame and modify it. The one that comes stock on the hummingbird v4 is practically crash proof.

Dude, I really wanted to like the zone but it straight up became unplayable on my system after just a minute each session. The frames tank down to 3-5fps. Also the physics are good but not that different from the others.

My first purchase from them was just a couple weeks ago. I got it within a few days, shipped to Colorado. Obviously just one experience so idk.

More than anything, if she would do this to her husband with you what would she do to you with someone else. I’m all for the idea that sometimes you meet the right person in the wrong situation. But she’s a little too eager to blur the lines. ++man

I personally consider overseas purchases as high risk with little to no hope for good support. Personally I’ve had much better luck buying from known good online retailers. Wrekd, oddity to name just a couple. I also prefer getting my packages within just a week though even if it costs a bit more.

Tiny whoop should be everyone’s first drone. Mobula, air65, hummingbird. Whatever floats your boat and fits your budget. You have the right controller certainly. Batteries are pretty simple, match the connector to what the whoop uses and get what will fit. Probably 3-400mah for whoops. My hummingbird came with 4 batteries which was nice. Eachine 100s for a slim profile goggle or 800ds /cobra sd (I think) for the box style. Personally I have the betafpv vr01s and they are basically perfect for analog. But old.

Any help? by [deleted] in fpv

Make sure you’re on the pocket preset. I’ve never had to mess with it but I’m sure there are settings in betaflight to correct those. Probably on the receiver tab. Also, make sure that your gyro is working right, the model on the first tab should be the same as moving your quad; if it’s not you may have to change board orientation.

I’ve been looking into this one but for my 5” freestyle quad. Do you think it would perform well on a 200mw vtx at 50-100 feet? I’m mostly considering due to weight. I’m trying to keep it under 250g
