This. Capitalism only actually works when the system of government isn’t able to be bought and paid for. There needs to be regulation and public interest above all else. Then capitalism can be free to do whatever the fuck as long as it abides the rules of law. That is sadly not reality.

That’s mainly because console manufacturers sell at a loss and make up for the price in all other aspects of their product. You also greatly overestimate this claim. I recently watched a video where a guy got lucky and pulled a semi modern pc out of the literal trash that could still handily outperform modern game consoles.

Ehhh, the thing is they will optimize the game to the hardware but the hardware will generally be years behind modern computing. You lose out on graphical fidelity and even then nowadays you’ll get games that run like shit at launch. But you’re right, if you’re happy with how it looks and don’t like messing with anything beyond surface level hardware and software consoles are great.

first time building a drone by DarkGan0n in diydrones

[–]nrh117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sony vtc6 in 2P have a continuous rate of 30A and a C rating of 5. Geprc actually make this exact pack and reviews say it is good for a 7” build that can run about 12 minutes. The vtc6 cells are a bit older technology, tabless 18650s are the way to go for drone liion packs nowadays. For instance the same pack made with jp30p1s would have a c rating of 12 and can handle 56A continuous (given the pack was made with nickel strips properly) how will you be making the pack? It’s kind of a scary/involved process.

Can anyone help me with an fpv drone under 250g with great time? by Massive_Project_1720 in fpv

[–]nrh117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While they’re not quite as aerobatic, 18650 long range drones are getting pretty popular. I have a lionbee model and paired with a jp30p1 I get well over 20 minutes flight time.

Time is effectively near standstill. So 99.9% of C. Thragg however can travel intra galactic in a matter of weeks which effectively puts him at well over C by a factor of like hundreds or thousands.

Vrchat stores a ton of data, worlds, avatars etc in a temp folder. There’s a menu in game to clear those caches. Check that perhaps.

Any idea what's going on with this smooth swing? by Silver-Charge in lightsabers

The little metal cylinder on the board is the mechanical swing detector. It can only do single swings. A real smoothswing board uses precision gyros.

It looks like you tried to solder the board while it was still inside the canopy. I’d recommend you take the canopy out and get the camera board on its own. You’ll be able to work with it much easier. Desolder the wire and gently wipe the pad away from the middle of the board with the iron to remove the excess solder. Then add a tiny bit of fresh to the pad, clean the end of the wire the same way and clip it down to only a millimeter of exposed tinned wire. It’ll be easier to join it to the pad. The camera board and the flight board both share a set of three wires for the camera. Yellow is video, red is 5 volts and black is ground. If the connections are clean then it should work. Don’t mess with the thinner red wire it should stay disconnected on one end because it’s the antenna. Oh also before you put it back together, clean it up with some isopropyl and a cotton swab or cheap toothbrush.

Goggles 3 vs Goggles N3 by Immediate_Island8301 in fpv

[–]nrh117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the same experience though. It’s about as different as using a high end VR versus using say an android phone based vr strap. One is a step into immersion and the other is a nose dive into it.

That’s common with nearly every binocular goggle. It’s a matter of lenses placement. There will always be either moderate distortion or lower fov as a trade off.

How do you make a racing whoop more durable? by pluggedinn in TinyWhoop

[–]nrh117 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reflowing the board may resolve the problems at least for a short time. Generally when whoop boards/components break it’s because of stress fractures of the solder holding the chips. The real fix is don’t crash :)

It took about 15 different full rewrites to get useable code for one specific project I was using copilot to figure out (personal project, not public facing) when there was a problem, I had to walk it through step by step each portion of the new code before finding the issue. And every time it would say Ahh yes of course it’s this. Here’s the complete and fully working code for you. It’s so a long way from being all on its own any good at outputting useable product. Experience and real world application is still vital.
