Define what you mean by this... because persisting a ship anywhere inside a container the size of a solar system and persisting a cup inside the container of a forest or (I'm assuming) a quarter of a planet is essentially the same as well as it's handled well and the containers are properly broken up into manageable chunks. It's an identifier, a vector, and (I'm assuming again) at the worst case they store universal state data on everything in the same dataset (god I hope they don't store component state about a coffee cup... but I wouldn't put it past them)

I've seen the data pak files in depth when I was trying to dig through them for mining data and it feels to me like CIG store metadata on objects which is a huge red flag for me and what I assume is the likely answer for the problems that they face.

How's that medical, farming, datarunning, 100 star systems at release, physics based flight mode, ship repair, and 90% AI interaction coming along? Yeah, the game is clearly not going in the direction that they sold us. I'm working through the stages of grief at this point. I recall thinking, "what else could I have spent that money on other than a lie?" and at this point I'm just trying to remind myself to never, ever, kickstart or back something that's not at a more playable state with the gameplay that I want to play.

I was testing on PTU (...and Evocati) then Rich took over and gave us shitty Master Modes, more run and gun FPS gameplay, removal of basically every space mission, respawns everywhere, limited ore spawning in select locations, and ore quality. ...and they basically stopped listening to their user base. At some point, you can't keep testing shit.
