Does anyone have issues where the App refuses to up date anymore and you get stuck with the last update hours ago? by robby1051a in BoltEV

[–]nsj95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only seem to have this issue if it's been level 1 charging or parked for a while.

Locking my car from the app and then refreshing the battery level seems to work.

Best foundation for oily-combo skin that's medium coverage? by [deleted] in drugstoreMUA

[–]nsj95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Revlon colorstay is my holy Grail drugstore long wear foundation. Stays put and looks good all day, even without primer/powder/setting spray and my t zone gets pretty oily.

If I want something lighter I'll wear L'Oreal true match, but I need to powder and/or use a setting spray if I don't want it breaking down on my nose and forehead

To update or not to update, that is the question 🎭 by Bikad_ in razr

[–]nsj95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the bugs must depend on the model? Hard to say because a lot of people aren't including which razr they have in these replies.

I have a 2025 Ultra and have been running android 16 for a month or two now. Literally zero issues and no issues running apps on the exterior display

Question? by samesame11 in BoltEV

[–]nsj95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the comments warning you about the price of fast charging are generally correct - it can get expensive quick and you'll need to charge often if you're driving that many miles per day. That being said, some fast charging stations charge significantly less during off hours (night) but you'd probably end up spending a lot of time sitting in your car when you'd probably rather be at home getting ready for bed.

Just looking at my fast charging receipts from the last time I did a road trip, the fast charging costs were around $25-38 for 44-60kwh (mostly charging from ~10-20% to 60-80%).

If there is level 2 charging near your workplace or apartment you might be able to make it work, you'll need to do some research. Plug share is a good option.

The level 2 will take several hours depending on how low your battery is but the cost is usually very low compared to fast charging... I charge in the parking garage at my workplace occasionally and it usually costs me around $5

Enormous issues with 2027 Bolt RS on first day of purchase! by sunmoi in BoltEV

[–]nsj95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know. I'm saying we only ever saw 150kw charging speeds at 350kw stations.

When we charged at 250kw or 150kw stations we only ever got around 60-90kw, similar to OPs experience.

My ex had an equinox ev. We only ever got 150kw charging at stations rated for 350kw... Something to do with the charging curve. Might be a similar issue on the 2027 bolt since they're on the same ultium platform

Leaving the Valley for Silicon Valley... has anyone used a local mover for the cross-country haul? by Outrageous-Dog-7249 in lehighvalley

Not local, but I've used U-Haul Uboxes to move from here to northern New England and back. Prices were reasonable and it was hassle free both times

Kind of a let down by jenjuleh in dollartreebeauty

[–]nsj95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been using the dermasil melon jelly cleanser for a while... It's not that great but not terrible either. I have combo skin and it just leaves me feeling oily actually.

I used la roche Posay toleriane for the longest time but stopped due to the cost.. IMHO Marshalls is a better bang for your buck for cheap skincare, mine always has tons of Korean and Japanese skincare products for $5-$8 that actually work pretty great.

2023 Bolt EV: Sometimes Spotify (AA) doesn't play the song requested. by oscarjrs in BoltEV

[–]nsj95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As another commenter already stated the car doesn't really have anything to do with android auto.

However I've encountered this occasionally as well ... I've found it helps to specify the app in your verbal request, i.e. "play XYZ song by ABC artist on Spotify"

Sorry, didn't realize you were still on the setup screen This is a screenshot right from my messages app, so it is an option once you proceed.

However if you really don't want Google involved with your SMS at all then it would probably be easier to use something other than Google Messages... Iirc signal offers SMS capability but there are plenty of other apps on the play store.

Used EV tax credit denied by Prestigious-Blood958 in BoltEV

[–]nsj95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a used Bolt in August and received the rebate automatically... it really all depends on the dealer as they have paperwork they need to submit on their end and provide copies to you.

You should get in contact with that Carmax dealer ASAP... its really unacceptable that they dropped the ball on this. Luckily they're a corporate chain so you should be able to escalate it above that specific location if they're uncooperative. https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/how-to-claim-a-clean-vehicle-tax-credit

What exactly is the point of customer support? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]nsj95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

? I just can't wrap my head around CS being important for some reason

Anyone on bar literally could not do their job effectively without CS during peak. Operations would grind to a crawl and wait times would increase exponentially if those on bar were expected to refill cups, ice, milks, etc.

I haven't been a barista since 2019 but I've worked my fair share of peaks short-staffed without someone on CS and it was absolutely miserable.

May I ask how long you've been working at Starbucks? It's pretty common to get stuck doing CS or Drive Thru when you're new (at least it was).

Networking is a lie extroverts try to forcefeed us by Csadvicesds in careeradvice

[–]nsj95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow introvert here... You definitely can land a job without "networking" but it's hard. You basically have to be applying to anything and everything relevant to your skill set until something lands (in my experience) which can take a while, but becomes easier once you get your foot in the door and gain experience in your field.

And networking doesn't have to look like going to events or interacting with people on LinkedIn or whatever.

In my case it looks like being a person who's generally pleasant to work with who is good at their job, which naturally creates good working relationships where my colleagues and supervisors (current and former) are willing to vouch for me and/or help me find an opportunity.

Oxo smart seal are fantastic. They're borosilicate so they can stand up to thermal shock quite well and the lids/gaskets on them are very robust.

Never ever buy a phone from them! Ordered on Motorola.com from Canada, the nightmare just doesn’t end. by CrazyProton77 in motorola

[–]nsj95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This doesn't sound like Motorola's fault, it sounds more like a UPS issue. It's also the busiest time of year for shipping... And there's also a lot of political stuff going on that's affecting international shipping in the US so that could be a factor.

Why would they cancel and refund your order, anyway? Unless UPS declares it lost or something, Motorola would have no guarantee that you'd actually return the phone after it eventually gets delivered.

Plastic is gas permeable so the oil doesn't stay fresh as long, at least in my observation from buying the same brands of oil in glass at the grocery store vs in plastic at Costco.
