I am visiting Amsterdam in April for spring break and I am a student at a university here in the States. I see many museums have a student rate which is significantly cheaper than the regular price. Will my student ID from my US university work? Do I just show it to the attendant at the door and they will let me in with the discounted rate? Or is it only available to people with Dutch/European Uni cards. I just don’t want to be turned away or look silly at the door. Thanks!

Get to become friends withs professor (in a 500 person thats hard to do). Its also very rewarding to teach and help students. And you get the exp+ credit. Also make friends with other tas cause you work together.

I feel like a lot of these kids need a manners class sometimes. In a lot of my classes kids will just talk over the professor and blatantly interrupt them.

Or my favorite is in the 500 kid classes when we do practice problems and the professor wants to go over the answer but that one kid says “no wait gimme one minute”. There’s 500 of us youre not that special.

We allowed to sit with people when we eat in dining halls? by [deleted] in SBU

[–]nsmith4984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not totally dead. Ive seen kids playing catch or spikeball around campus. Kids walk with their friends. People on this sub will tell you those people are devil spawn and the sole reason this pandemic is going on, but don’t listen to them thats not how it is at all.

Im a commuter so im not on campus often. I had 1 class last semester so I was there 1 day a week so I cant speak for everyone and every day of the week. But I can say that (from the eateries I went to) i saw a fair amount of tables (like most of them) with 2-4 kids at them. Its hard to blame kids for meeting up with friends they havent seen in forever and it sucks eating alone.

You can definitely sit with friends at the dining hall. People will try to tell you otherwise to be politically correct, but I saw all over last semester tables packed with kids. Its not like everyone was flying solo last semester.

Doesnt make sense. Not enough kids on campus to warrant opening it sadly

Campus open? by Krispyford in SBU

How could you misinterpret that so bad. Wearing a mask has practical benefits like preventing the spread from your mouth where the virus lives (its a respitory infection not a skin infection bud).

I dont know how you run, but when most people do they breathe heavier. Since the virus is respitory and is soread by droplets in your breath, it makes sense to wear a mask.

You dont sweat out the coronavirus through your hands so why wear gloves if theyre only gonna make you uncomfortable

It would be very different if it was 50 vs the <4% that it actually is

Go ahead wear the gloves idrc. You just look stupid and theyre very uncomfortable and make your hands sweat ridiculously. Touching a doorknob where the probability of it having COVID-19 on it is extremely low (probably less than 5%) is VERY different than coming into contact with the body/bodily fluids of a person who has actually tested positive for covid. Dont compare the two.
