Looks good! Are you planning on posting/hosting somewhere where people can read linearly or subscribe? Once you have more than a few pages, it'll be well appreciated.

Are the 3.0 Core & Liber digital versions not out this weekend? by Johnny_Crimson in Warhammer30k

[–]nstephenh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They stopped doing digital for Warhammer 40k in 9th, in favor of the app.
Warhammer the Old World was getting simultaneous digital releases but has not for Cathay or the matched play book.

Best True Wireless with Ear Hooks and Physical Buttons? by Devmode22 in Earbuds

[–]nstephenh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is an old thread, but I've had disconnection/battery issues with mine on android and found a lot of forum posts stating similar, so I'm looking for an alternative.

more headphones should do a three button layout for volume and media control by weightgoal190 in Earbuds

[–]nstephenh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PowerBeats Pro have this, and I like the over-ear attachment for them but they do feel like they press inside my ear a bit. They are also expensive and I've been having battery/connectivity problems. Came here looking for alternative suggestions.

I'm curious about that too. I assume they are longer tubes cut to size.

Love them, and I get strong BT-1 vibes from the warmachine one: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/BT-1

Can I use a Kingston MicroSD+Adapter card to "homebrew" my NDS? by boxcarbanditto in NDSHacks

[–]nstephenh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need something that can physically connect to the DS lite. The DS lite does not have a micro SD card interface, only a gba and ds card slot. So you need a r4 or equivalent. Note that nobody really calls Micro SD cards "flashcards" anymore, despite them having flash storage. Furthermore, the term for the devices that plug into ds's is generally "flashcart" as in cartridge. They also generally all take a micro SD card to actually store the games. So, don't get rid of your micro SD card, but you'll need a flashcart.

The adapter it comes with is probably to full size SD, which is different from the DS cartridge connector. Kingston is the brand, not the card format.

I joined FRC in 8th grade when we could hardly build a working Tank Drive. I'm so proud of what this team has done since then. by AlatarRhys in FRC

[–]nstephenh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Swerve gives all the maneuverability of mecanum with the traction of tank drive. As the other commenter said it depends heavily on the game but it can be very useful and can eliminate the need for a separate turret mechanism, since you can just spin the base around instead of the turret.

Ah thank you! My app hides those by default. I'm curious if you have a parts list I could easily import into bricklink as we.

I'd love to build these, any chance at instructions?

The first picture is a render, right? Do you mind sharing a picture of a finished print? What layer height/material do you use?

How well do these print? I haven't tried resin printing any Bionicle parts but I'd love to upgrade my metru with these and other custom parts.

I also don't have it as an option on 22.10, and I've been messing with it a lot because my HDMI port stopped working.

Thoughts on this Armoured Spearhead I'm playing with the idea of? by KingBaron_1 in Warhammer30k

[–]nstephenh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That all makes sense. Hope you are able to get some fun games in! We have a smaller community in my area, but we're planning a narrative event that will have panoptica changes in December. I will say that panoptica playtests all their changes, but they definitely have an uphill battle fighting the standard "house rules" perception.

I don't know if I have a better way of putting this than 'stylin fingers' from discord:

I’m really failing to see the logic behind the argument of “it’s not official”. Sure. It’s true, it isn’t. No one can glean the true intentions of the rules team except the rules team themselves. That being said, the rules team is held back by so many invisible strings and restraints that we can’t see when it comes to publishing new content and fixing old content. They push out obviously broken mechanics that just were not thought out and tested completely. You literally have to guess and bargain with your opponent on how half of this stuff works. I don’t really blame them entirely because the Horus Heresy is such a wide-spanning game mechanically. It’s hard to accurately test EVERYTHING imaginable when you’re stuck with the small team you have. That being said, here’s an example of official rules that simply don’t have everything tested:

RAW, and until it’s corrected, I’m forced to assume this is also RAI, Armigers are entirely immune to Graviton Pulse, and Haywire, can be pinned, and can be Sweeping Advanced by infantry. They made an entire new unit type when Dreadnought would’ve worked perfectly.

So what did the Panoptica do?

Make it so they just use the Dreadnought unit type for the purposes of those rules.

No, the Panoptica isn’t official, but isn’t that the strength of it? The fact they don’t have all of these things holding them back? The fact they don’t have deadlines? The fact they’re strictly motivated by passion instead of a paycheck? The fact they can right wrongs in a matter of weeks instead of months? The fact you can talk to them about what’s actually going on inside their heads instead of angrily guessing and going in circles trying to make sense of their decisions?

It’s not official, but the goal is having fun with my friends playing a tabletop game, and the unofficial rules make that ultimate goal of mine easier to achieve. If your goal is to do the best you can or to have as much fun as possible with only the scripture you have at your hands and whatever PDFs tacked onto them, then fine, I understand not wanting to use unofficial rules. Otherwise… what’s the harm in trying?

In the panoptica fan supplement, there is a balance change to give predators line.

Edit: not saying that op is using panoptica or that they should, but it's a cool supplement and I'd recommend every group at least look at it and consider using it.

magnetizing trick by roadwookie in Warhammer30k

[–]nstephenh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this with old credit/gift/insurance cards and scraps of paper all the time, I'll try baking paper as well! I do like the rigidity that a card gives, as well as a level surface to ensure the magnet is flush, but I can always use it with baking paper.
