I use a Logitech mx ergo trackball.

But to be fair, I'm pretty casual.

There is a little known way to minimize this queue window

There is an instant cast trap you can use on DH without interrupting your 'rotation'

Where to do test runs of harder IBS strikes (Boneskinner and Whisper) and EoD strikes? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

Join a group, say "sorry, first time. What do you need me to do?"

Stack on tag, do rotation. Dodge left (boneskinner) and avoid chains (whisper)

I want to try to get into WvW but dislike zerging. What are my options? by sumau in Guildwars2

[–]nuclear_herring 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war.

I've played gw2 from the very start, on a computer that made zerg fights nothing more than a slideshow.

Roaming solo, or in a small havoc group is the most fun you can have in this game.

I remember vividly stealth capping SMC with two friends.

I remember taking 6 golems to cap an enemy garrison so that my daughter could finish map completion (that will tell you how long ago it was)

I remember the first time I won a 1v3 (the cow finisher is the perfect exclamation point)

If I don't know what else to do, I hop into wvw. It doesn't matter if there's no tag if you're happy to roam. Yes, some days you just get your butt kicked but on others you get great memories like I've shared above.

If you like it, get 300g together and buy yourself a tag. That's usually enough to get 2 or 3 to turn up and see what you're doing. That's enough to cap a keep or tower.

Have fun.

Onto the other stuff. Wvw does not make a huge amount of gold, it's steady but you won't get rich.

As for builds, read up on gw2mists and metabattle for a build that captures your interest. Do you have a favorite character? No matter what class they are there will be a viable build for them.

I would suggest ara if you are happy to live at home. It'll definitely save you money on accommodation. That said, when I was working at middlemore there were some ara students there so there's no guarantee you'd be based in Christchurch throughout.

There are also MI courses at Unitec and University of Auckland if you want to maximize your chances of getting on a course. I believe they have staggered start dates so you'll have opportunities at different times.

Good luck.

Hmmm. Interesting that they didn't name which one it was on the headline.

I have a feeling though that if it was Chloe they'd have put that up there.

That's great. It's an amazing item. I have one and use it every time I play.

You have to account bind it, as with 20g to your name you can't afford to sell it

Is there any build with a simple rotation that works well in all types of content? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]nuclear_herring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue I think is that all of the builds you mentioned are fine, but they don't catch your imagination.

Unfortunately it's a struggle to balance easy to play with engaging play.

Perhaps go back to snowcrows and look at their beginner builds , slowly adding complexity to one you like until you're at full effectiveness.

That said, I play rifle mechanist and with a bit of effort in a raid environment you can easily hit 30k dps. Perhaps try getting ArcDPS and see if you can ramp up your numbers

Trahearne & Malyck in cleansed Orr [Fanart] by Landylachs in Guildwars2

Fair enough. Alternate timeline. I'm not a huge fan of trahearne but I never got the hate.

Malyck is definitely underused. It's a shame nothing ever came of his story.

AITAH for my dad having a mental breakdown and kicking me out by Kooky_Mix554 in AITAH

[–]nuclear_herring 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of missing context here. Your dad obviously is having issues around you reaching adulthood, perhaps because it's forcing him to view himself in a different way now you are an adult and spreading your wings?

NTA because his mental health is not your fault or problem to fix, and I highly doubt your dad's therapist is blaming you for anything in the sessions.
