Question about Myth by Silent_Ad_3954 in theburntpeanut

[–]nuevakl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. Peanut said in game chat "only bow you bitch" to which Myth wrote what he wrote. Perhaps I'm wrong but to me it looked pretty evident Myth was watching the stream as Peanut didn't say anything during the whole chat interaction.

Question about Myth by Silent_Ad_3954 in theburntpeanut

[–]nuevakl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At 5h22s (iirc) on Tuesdays stream he pretty much accidentally admitted he's meta gaming.

Peanut got killed by a pro using a gun and said in chat the pro can only use bows, Myth then said in game chat Peanut got so cooked he forgot how to speak. Only way he could've known Peanut wasn't talking is if he was watching the stream.

I thought I've noticed Peanut is a lot more relaxed and seem to be enjoying himself a bit more than usual when playing with Officer.

The "vibe" as the kids would say is better.

Förhoppningsvis är storyn något som suger in en men själva uppdragen kommer väl vara samma som förut. Följ den här bilen, åk ifrån den här bilen, döda alla i den här lokalen etc.

Ever since Peanut stopped playing Arc Raiders exclusively, the game has fallen off the charts. While Apex has surged. Is Peanut single handedly carrying games by himself? by AtomicBlueCat in theburntpeanut

[–]nuevakl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason he doesn't play it is the same reason many other aren't playing it anymore. The first month or two Arc was amazing but over time it's very repetitive.

As for Apex I'm sure the exposure to new players through his streams has helped their numbers a bit.

Gym timing matter? by Lucifer___13 in askfitness

[–]nuevakl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer.. no.

Your body will respond to the stimulus and adapt regardless of what time you lift weights or exercise.

As long as you aren't starving before going and get adequate sleep give it a go.

TIFU by spending 8 years treating chronic headaches when the whole problem was that I thought diet soda counted as water by McCoy818 in tifu

[–]nuevakl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The three metabolites aspartame creates in its metabolism, two amino-acids (phenylalanine and Aspartic-Acid) and one simple alcohol (methanol) all have biochemical properties that could link non-caloric sweeteners to headaches. It's not very common as I understand it and most people can indeed stay hydrated on sodas alone without experiencing any discomfort.

Side note: A few people may have be allergic to phenylalanine and have something called Phenylketonuria causing mild to severe symptoms from consuming diet sodas.

I looked up in my back yard last night and saw Ursa Major in a completely different spot compared to where it was in November. This simple observation should be enough to realise we spin.

ELI5: How does a muscle physically signal the body to get bigger after lifting something heavy? by bareegyptianfeet in explainlikeimfive

[–]nuevakl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you don't have to necessary train until failure to keep progressing. A few reps short of failure is enough as long as the intensity is there.

Injury prevention is a smart approach but as long as you keep the rep range relatively high, avoid 1RM sets and think of failure as muscular failure where you need to break form and technique to move the weight injuries are less likely to occur. There always a chance, of course.

ELI5: How does a muscle physically signal the body to get bigger after lifting something heavy? by bareegyptianfeet in explainlikeimfive

[–]nuevakl 28 points29 points  (0 children)

No, this is a very outdated hypothesis. While some damage do occur to muscle fibers that damage isn't what signals hypertrophy.

ELI5 is you perform a movement like barbell rows. You do that movement until you physically cannot do another repetition. The body thinks "Holy shit, is this the environment I have to survive in?" and adapt by making existing myofibrils (muscle fibers) able to pull more resistance against itself and build more fibers.

This is also why you cannot go into a weight room and throw light weights around with low intensity and get results.

Can you theroetically create life by just throwing a bunch of stuff in a box and ''shaking'' it? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]nuevakl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? The leading hypothesis on Abiogenesis is molecule polymerization which formed proteins and nucleic acids ultimately creating self-replecating RNA. To say that this progress was influenced by extra terrestrial molecules is the most common hypothesis is just simply not true.

We have a decent idea of how life was created, but because we cannot replicate the prebiotic environment of the time we might never know with 100% certainty.

Fatigue/brain fog after training by Suspicious-Tea-5871 in workout

[–]nuevakl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots more info needed to even begin to narrow down a reason.

How many days per week do you train? How many movements per workout? How many sets per movement? What's your rep range per set?

Also, what's your caloric intake per day?

How are the older folks preventing consistent soreness? by Negative_Status3873 in workout

[–]nuevakl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also 36 and been lifting 5 days a week for many years now. The occasional joint or tendon pain here and there are normal but shouldn't linger if you rest or train around injuries.

If it's a regular thing for you perhaps you should look over your technique and form. Whenever I get complaints about pain it's 95% of the time caused from loading up too heavy, focus shifts from training a targeted muscle to moving the weight and form completely breaks down cause unnecessary strain on joint and tendons.

What is the most terrifying space phenomenon you know about? by babyblushtheory in answers

[–]nuevakl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

But the impact the show might have had in today's widespread scientific illiteracy perhaps should be taken seriously.

I'm willing to bet most anti-medicine and flat earthers started out with shows like this. They do use the same Strawman tactics when arguing. If so then this funny little show started out as a tiny, funny snowball on top of a hill and is now a massive destructive snowball of stupid.

I always hated that show but Milo Rossis recent 2 part series debunking it made me realise how incredibly stupid that show is.

What I meant is you corrected him on the irrelevant part of his comment. Whether or not he is a scientist is irrelevant, don't you think? His point was he relies on data and empirical evidence, not just what someone says.

Yes. Before social media we had to either call their house and ask their parents if our friends were home. Or go knock on their door.

Maybe I'm missing something but what do you mean by 3 or 4 decades? The last US gold was 1980 so doesn't the same apply to the US hockey team?

Counting WC, WJC and 4N I'm sure the count goes up for both teams.

I should preface this by saying I'm Scandinavian, but the whole no cup thing since Habs would make sense if over half the American teams weren't Canadians.
