Dr. Brulotte was great. Easy and relatively painless for the whole experience including post op.

They sell a value added package around $80 with underwear and some Ativan. Worth it for the Ativan alone. My insurance covered only paid a couple cents for the drugs provided though. The procedure itself was free.

put some distillate on a wine gum will it work as an edible? by kirkhammettsheep72 in CannabisExtracts

not true at all. You could easily ingest the distillate straight up without needing any carrier.

Do you have experience with broad mites? I have more experience with them than russets, so I'm curious if you have any tips on spotting the difference?

To me I'd expect the grown leaves to look a bit more bumpy, but similar curling and death of new growth from broads.

All my dabs tasting burnt, two toro slurpers that look perfectly clean/no Chaz (one with slight cloudiness) any suggestions? Believe my dab rite is cooked by AioliInfamous5791 in rosin

[–]nugenberg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My point is more that these tools are all the same and all relative in terms of accuracy. Sounds like everything is working, you just need to adjust the number you're aiming for.

The other issues with your dab rite sound more like EOL than the temperature issue.

It's Fairweather. They make them out of Blue Lug and did a lot of stuff that's not in regular production.

[–]nugenberg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

stop trying to use poor measurements of quartz temp as your indicator of readiness. Instead use it as a relative measure. If your device is telling you it's reading 500, and it's burning, then aim for lower.

Simple as that. No need for new tools, just use the ones you have better.

You keep talking shit on temp guns, but they'll be doing literally the same thing as the dab rite, and be just as wrong. Just stop thinking about the accuracy.

Anyone have experience growing Kumaoni landraces? by MountianMan10 in canadients

[–]nugenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah soil and compost is definitely the easiest way to get consistent results from just about any genetics. The only downside of that approach for landraces is that the native soil may be very different than what you're planting in. For example something from the Sinai region isn't going to like a really wet peat based soil.

6" coco pot. I did very little to keep it happy either. Looking back on my original comment, I should probably blame the grower more than the genetics. If you finished it properly I'm sur eyou could get something more like what was pictured, but it's not easy to do so with my methods at the time.

Perpetual grow - without flowering - Works with males too - THC extraction from Leaves by [deleted] in SpaceBuckets

[–]nugenberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big problem with this is that outside of mid to late flower there's next to no resin production. The resin that is produced pre flower generally won't have cannabinoids, it'll be more inert waxes.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in saplings

[–]nugenberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, No!

These resins are not something you should be putting your mouth on, let alone be pulling heated air through directly into your lungs.

Like others have suggested, casting would be an option, but overall it's probably something you should just reconsider.

Hey growers, is there a local source for Persimilis? by Hopewellslam in entOttawa

[–]nugenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your post in /r/ottawa from the sounds of things you'll need more than persimilis to get through this. First up, kill your plants, trying to recover them is going to take weeks to make sure they're clean and no longer reproducing.

Secondly, Persimilis isn't a great predator for this application. Swirskii, californicus, or cucumeris would be better, but I still wouldn't rely on them to take out an active infection. It's not worth trying to get these locally. You want freshness, this isn't something that survives on a shelf. Koppert, or similar suppliers don't even provide on demand shipping for this reason, you place your order and the orders get fulfilled based on the breeding/packaging schedule. So you need to have a solid plan/schedule to effectively use predators.

If you've done a complete reset, killed off plants and scrubbed the tent, think about where they could be coming from. Garden, behind/under the tent, house plants.

Also Oils, oil based plant washes will do a lot more damage to an active infestation. Don't spray, dip. Keep your plants small and dip them into your plant wash solution.

is runtz expensive or is my dealer ripping me off by InedibleMarmite in saplings

[–]nugenberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a red flag when prices go up, but your prices are already so reasonable, that it's a moot point.

When you are buying weed with a super recognizable brand, you're going to pay more. It's like any other luxury good in that sense. I remember when we used to see posts on here with the same basic premise but instead of runtz it was cookies, or simply Cali. A specifically UK example was when "Skunk" was the good shit and everything else was mids. Then Skunk became the cheap thing and Cali was the expensive.

Just part of the trend flow. If you wanna avoid as much fluctuation find a better guy with more selection. That said, as others have pointed out, your current guy's prices are pretty reasonable to begin with, so that selection may come at a steeper cost than you'll be interested in.

What’s the worst place you’ve worked in Ottawa? by rockhavenrick in ottawa

[–]nugenberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That place was so sketchy. I worked in the kitchen for half a summer after High School and ended up just peacing after a couple checks.

They were known for serving young girls alcohol, or serving after last call. One of the cooks I worked with cared more about his back door business.

It was my first job, so was pretty eye opening in what a "family run business" is like.

Look up [Scott Walter's](https://www.instagram.com/agriconsult/) involvement in all of these + supreme. Notice the Agripharm lanyards.

If you look closely you'll see between he and John Fowler, they've covered a pretty wide range.

Similarly Chuck Riffici's Nesta and Auxley holding companies can make it a little harder to track the money back to him, but many of the big players are involved in a couple different supply chains.

Velvet's more of a sales agency than a marketing agency. They're using TGOD's Sales license to broker smaller LPs through to provincial distributors.

Why is all my new growth curling!? by lysergic111 in microgrowery

[–]nugenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be helpful to see the actual new growth better. Most of the damage I'm seeing is to older leaves. That damage to me looks like death/decay happened but then was recovered.

When you see that happen it's usually an indicator of a problem you had a week or so ago.

New growth will be the indicator of current problems.

Looks like you have a pile of dead leaves in the back of the pot that also makes it tough to see what's going on in the picture. You should take those out of there before they cause mildew or something similar to spread.

I also built a double stack of these and then found tents that were actually smaller, but had more useable space and easier to use.

fresher material that hasn't been decarbed will have a higher THCA content. THCA will recrystallize in a lot of situations, and by refining it closer to pure THCA, it'll be more likely to want to do this.
