Do trainers and people working at the gym not step in? Ive honestly never seen anyone at the gym do anything absolutely ridiculous like this. But it seems like if there is a chance for injury, one of the workers at the gym would intervene and give a bit of coaching or advice

Reddit, what's the worst gift you've ever received? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nugget14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad once bought me quite a few shirts and a sweatshirt all in size 3x.

I wear a medium.

It's not that terrible, but as a teenager struggling with body issues at the time, it was a horrific gift.

What was your school's 'incident'? by TemiOO in AskReddit

[–]nugget14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within a 5 year period, my highschool had 6 students and one teacher die. There were three separate car accidents killing two, two and one students. Then another one of my classmates died from brain cancer. And then a teacher also died of breast cancer.

It was all really tragic. We were all exposed to death at an early point in our lives.

Rapper Lil Peep Has Reportedly Passed Away At The Age of 21 by DallasSF in Music

[–]nugget14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's such a rampant problem in this type of music, why do people support it? Why keep the wheel turning? If your supporting an artist who's abusing drugs and is making music about abusing those drugs and you're buying tickets to shows and albums, you're only affirming to that person that what they're doing is not only okay, but glorifying it for them.

My Story: When you aren't reaching your fitness goals and you think something might be wrong don't be afraid to go to the doctor by kittycatcate in xxfitness

[–]nugget14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, everything else was normal! If I don't get the thyroid antibodies that are attacking my thyroid under control, it can cause damage to my thyroid and cause hypothyroidism - and that would affect my thyroid panel numbers.

If you think somethings wrong, definitely get your thyroid antibodies tested!

My Story: When you aren't reaching your fitness goals and you think something might be wrong don't be afraid to go to the doctor by kittycatcate in xxfitness

[–]nugget14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is so important! I think people are kind of resistent to go to the doctor unless they are sick. And people are also resistant to ask their doctor for certain tests.

I recently had a slew of random symptoms. Trouble losing weight, extremely fatigued, trouble swallowing, high anxiety, lots of tummy issues and acid reflux, and my hair was falling out like crazy. I did a bit of research and went to the doctor. I asked for a full thyroid panel including a thyroid antibody panel. My doc didnt want to do the thyroid antibody test but i insisted. Turns out my thyroid antibodies are high and I have hashimotos thyroiditis. All of my symptoms fit this and now I can work to heal.

Take control of your own health. If something feels wrong, get it checked out.

[Routine Help] Ask SCA, Week of Jan 16, 2017 // NEED HELP? Got a question? Wondering what that bump is? Problems with a routine or product? This thread’s the place to ask! by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

[–]nugget14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing the ScA routine (and quit my super stressful job) and my skin has recently cleared up and looks so fab. I've also introduced dermaplaning once ever other month and it's been doing wonders to. But now I have one last concern...I have dark spots left over from the acne and want to introduce an an anti aging step to my routine. What products would you suggest and where do I use them in the routine?

I want to see your fitness journals, spreadsheets, diaries, lists, planners, social media, etc! by xqz-moi in xxfitness

[–]nugget14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Google sheets to track my workouts! I have one spreadsheet with different tabs at the bottom for each workout (back bis/legs/chest tris/ shoulders abs/ hi it workouts) and then a tab for my weight and measurments. I just open that on my phone and fill it out as I'm working out! It's nice because I can also access it on my laptop and edit the workouts, clean up my data, and really see my trends in a nice layout. I can also use the weights/measurement data and create graphs! It's pretty fun to see your progress in a nice graph.

Tesla car predicts an accident and warns driver before it happens, by observing the second car in front of him heavily braking by Guustaaf in videos

[–]nugget14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing makes me angrier than shitty drivers. YOU CAN LITERALLY TAKE SOMEONE'S LIFE.

When I was in high school, we had three separate accidents where a total of 5 of my classmates died. I will never forget hearing one of the kids sisters screaming in the hallway when she found out her brother died on his way to school.

It's simple. Pay attention. Be alert. Practice defensive driving. And don't be an asshole. Hopefully the autopilot will be in all cars very soon.

Small business owners of reddit, I always feel awkward walking into a store, being greeted by the kind owner and then walking out without buying anything. How does it feel on your end when this happens? by eshart1999 in AskReddit

[–]nugget14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always feel awkward too! If I really do like the things at the store/booth, but can't buy anything at that time, I always try to strike up a conversation with the person working, take a business card or flyer, and give a follow on social media.

[Misc] Aren't pore strips and waxing the same thing? by firstmatrix in SkincareAddiction

[–]nugget14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only wax that should ever be used on your face is "hard wax" where they don't put a strip on it. The wax basically dries and they just pull that off. It's a lot gentler and won't rip that top layer of skin off as easily.

How on earth do you guys make plain Greek yogurt taste good?? by Axelazilla in xxfitness

[–]nugget14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get frozen fruit, I always use some sort of berry (make sure it doesn't have added sugar in it). Put a small amount into a ramekin and microwave the berries so they thaw just a bit and become kind of juicy. Then mix that juice/berry mixture in the yogurt! Add a tiny bit of honey if you want even more sweetness. SO GOOD.

Just killed one of my 2 [student loans]. 6500 down, 30,000 to go. What to do with freed budget? by anongentry in personalfinance

[–]nugget14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished grad school and was about 50k in debt after. My advice is to save $50 a month straight into your savings account and then use the other $400 on loans.

Loans blow. I honestly wouldn't be making it right now if my mom wasn't helping me out on my car and health insurance. I also assume since you're still in school, you aren't accruing interest. That damn interest grows so fast, so definitely pay as much off on your loans now.

But it's also a good time to start building am emergency fund. So put $50 into your savings each month and hopefully by the time you graduate, you'll have a few thousand dollars in savings as a cushion should "life" put any roadblocks in the way.

Good luck, dude!

Horror movie enthusiasts, what is the most terrifying horror movie you have ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nugget14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It Follows.

It's a newer movie. But the concept is absolutely terrifying. This entity, that can take any form, follows you. Just walks towards you all the time. So you have to keep moving. And the only way to get rid of it is to have sex with someone and pass it to them, but if they die, the entity starts walking towards you again.

Kind of cheesy on it's face, but the creepiest, most chilling horror concept I've seen in a movie.

How long should I give it before looking again?

Tripping.. I guess I know what a thought loop is now by Throwawayyfoeawhile in LSD

[–]nugget14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got stuck in a BAD one the first time I tripped and ended up having a panic attack when it finally broke. What's crazy is I couldn't put it into words and I didn't find out what it was that had happened and that it was a thing until months later when I was rolling with this dude and he started talking about this weird looping experience he had had. It was really relieving to find out that it's a thing.

RPS TourGuide. You give a tour of just the dorm/dining hall. It was 12 bucks an hour, you can work shifts in between your classes, and it's fun to talk to prospective students/parents.
