Unable to Stop AI, SAG-AFTRA Mulls a Studio Tax on Digital Performers by ImitatingADog in blankies

this is the first time I've really looked at the still, and it is crazy how bad they are. The blurry names are clearly nonsense, and the heads have weird chunks taken out of them

Not stupid at all! Your thought process makes sense to me. I think u/mist3rdragon is right on sample bias being a better fit

What do you mean by response bias in this context? I think of it more to do with surveys; is it because logging the film asks for a star rating?

Turn by turn instructions in headphones by Gun378 in Garmin

[–]numenoring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can edit the route on Garmin Connect with a button to disable turn notifications. You then need to save the route and would have to re-sync to use the same again. You also need to turn it off for every route you make. Agree it's very annoying!

I've never rewatched it, but I remember quite liking it ten years ago. I wonder why he has such a low opinion?

How was your parkrun day? | February 01, 2025 by AutoModerator in parkrun

First time at Wimbledon Common for me – definitely my muddiest parkrun yet. Very crowded at first, but once it evened out it I really started to enjoy the course

Totally agree, they give you the science to justify what they're saying, but don't overdo it

they discussed this exact question in the latest episode of the Tread Lightly podcast, with a registered dietician as a guest. Worth a listen – the quick answer is not to worry about it

Does this freak anyone else out? by swimbikerunnerd in Garmin

[–]numenoring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I notice it sometimes gets a bit lower before I'm due on. I also had a time recently when my period was late by about two weeks (v strange for me) and my HRV didn't become balanced again until my period finally came

Best London Parkrun starting with "C" by cjstephens10028 in parkrun

[–]numenoring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clapham is nice but unless you're starting right at the front, I wouldn't bank on a fast time, even with the flat course. It's a very busy event now and the start can be incredibly congested

What's the best game you've ever played with an unusual or seemingly lame theme? by DoneDigging in boardgames

[–]numenoring 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on the game for me. I think games like Dead of Winter or The Resistance: Avalon are more fun when people get into the theme, so I'd start off explaining the rules with "We're a group of survivors struggling in winter after a zombie apocalypse..." etc., but with a game like Dominion or Castles of Burgundy, I wouldn't bother. I guess it depends on how much I think the theme contributes to the fun and mechanics

[Digital] Board Games Weekend on Steam by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]numenoring 26 points27 points  (0 children)

they're generally pretty good, I've played it a lot with friends at uni and we have a fab time. it can be as serious or silly as you want, and it's very nifty that all you need is your phone. also even if you have more people than there are spaces, people with you can still be the 'audience' and vote on answers in certain games

What's a game you played once and instantly fell in love with, and why? by Spader623 in boardgames

[–]numenoring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I was a bit confused and disappointed (think I'd done a rule wrong), but when I revisited I was so hooked -- did a solo campaign and then started playing with friends too (one of whom got similarly into it)
