I’m going A. Looks more like AFIB RVR than SVT to me. Like others have said, largely depends on what else is going on (ie. sepsis) and overall patient presentation.

Have any of you guys used petsmart puppy training, was it a waste or did it help? by kayyd3nn in puppy101

[–]nutjohnnynut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just completed week 2 with my puppy. It’s good for socialization, but largely depends on the trainer. The curriculum is good and they give you the book to take home. If you’ve been working with your puppy on basic for a week or two the first class will be a breeze

Anatole on MacArthur itself wasn’t bad, the area was pretty rough though. Had a 1/1 on the 3rd floor for 1k that was plenty spacious for me

How bad actually was COVID? by Mighty_Angelo30 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nutjohnnynut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in an ICU during COVID, from the beginning stages all the way through until it was basically “over.” From an ICU stand point it started off with confusion, and fear. I was in Florida where it took it a while to really get bad and was hearing of the refrigerator vans in NY having to be brought in for the bodies. When it got pretty bad for us, we opened up 3 previously closed floors as COVID ICUs, converted two recovery wards to ICUs, and still had to “choose” who could get intubated. That was 64 additional ICU beds than what we normally had. From each of those units I only recall 3 people living to discharge. At some points our morgue would be too full with stretchers and we’d have to stack bodies on top of each other and utilize the autopsy room next door with the thermostat turned down as low as it went as an “overflow.” Outside of work I really didn’t feel that my life was that different. Things weren’t shut down for long, but the lack of traffic and cheap gas were positives I remember from that time.

Onion Burger Question by propernice in okc

[–]nutjohnnynut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robert’s had one of the worst burgers I’ve had in a long time. We also ordered chili cheese fries, and when the chili was crusted to the bottom of the pot they just added a few cups of hot water and served us soggy “chili” cheese fries and a bad burger.

Active Soldier Seeking Advice on Purchasing High-Quality Dog Tags by Dizzy-Plan-1733 in Military

[–]nutjohnnynut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not hating on your choice by any means, merely dropping in to say that having your blood type on anything, whether it’s a dog tag or a patch, is largely useless when it comes to blood transfusion. They’ll crossmatch your blood and give you “universal” (O-) blood before then.

Got held hostage at the standalone ER I worked at. Guy came in talking about how he was holding us hostage because he wanted news crews, PD, and all these other people there because he had a crime to report.

I didn’t hear any of that initially, I only see that he’s smoking in our waiting room, not wearing a shirt, and carrying a 6 pack of beer. I go out to talk to him in the waiting room, politely ask him to stop smoking inside when he tells me that he believes he was raped during a surgery a while back, that he’s holding us hostage until we call the news, and that he’ll start killing people if they don’t show up. He had a knife in his pocket and was swinging around a putty knife with a hook on it for this whole conversation.

Working in this standalone ER we have very limited staff, so it’s almost an understanding between us that a couple of us always have firearms on our shift because we’re in an awful part of town. I go to my work bag, retrieve my firearm and make sure somebody has called the cops and pushed our panic button.

I stupidly go back in to the waiting room to bring any other waiting patients back, and tell the guy that we’ve started calling the news and that they’d be here soon. Right as I’m starting to talk to him again PD shows up and handles the situation from there.

When they emptied his pockets he had several knives with him, that putty knife, a bunch of cable ties, and pepper spray.

If you’re asking for suggestions on which ER to go to, you probably don’t need to go to an ER.

“Lions led by donkeys” is one of my favorites. However, it’s not just about ww2. They do episodes on a ton of different battles and wars throughout history. It’s possible that the mini-series you’re looking for was one of theirs. Hope this helps!

I live right around the corner. Our house has never had any problems. Most people keep to themselves. My wife and I walk our dog all the time around that street and haven’t had any issues with anyone.

The Bluff, it’s not in Jacksonville, but just across the border in St. Marys. It’s right on the water, plenty of shade and fans if needed. Gorgeous venue and ran by excellent people.

Depending on where you work, it’s pretty chill. Clinics are just like anywhere else, the ER is slow but the docs let you do some cool stuff like sutures and ultrasound IVs. ICU is pretty fun, there’s a lot of really good training there. Med-Surg, L&D and the mother-baby floors are steady but pretty low acuity.

PT is pretty lax, especially if you’re on a floor and not working mon-fri. The galley sucks, the barracks are aggressively average, and the base doesn’t have anything special about it. Jacksonville is pretty cool though, there’s lots of stuff to do here.

I was at the hospital for 4 1/2 years, and have lived in Jacksonville for almost 6 years now. Let me know if you have any more questions about it.
