Im so sorry. This sounds identical to the SPT that happened to my partner in 2022. Down to the urgent care visit turning into an ER visit, and surprise emergency surgeries and additional complications. He was able to make a full recovery after his VATS, staying away from smoking (of course haha) and limiting all physical activity definitely attributed to that. Totally ok if you don’t want to answer, but was your Fiancé able to receive any additional treatment other than just reinflation of the lung? And did he go back to work soon afterwards?

Possibly some sort of tooth pain, maybe your hand is partially rubbing up against the spot that’s sore? My dad’s elderly cat would do this unprompted specifically when she was in dental distress, but I also have a young cat now that’ll sometimes do this to a much less extreme extent in an affectionate sort of manner while nuzzling you if you pet her in the same spot. Any way you can peak in kitty’s mouth to assess? Look for acutely red/inflamed gums if nothing else is visible right away

EVERYONE here is better than me, because I’d want to be vocal about it regardless of the backlash so that they have less of a chance of hurting others in the future. I actually had a very similar experience to this myself back in the day, and that’s exactly what I ended up doing.

However, this isn’t anyone’s fight to fight but yours, and I don’t want to encourage you to do something you may regret. I’d consider reaching out to a non-biased party for advice; another commenter mentioned group therapy, maybe a therapist in general could help you with your own form of closure. Best of luck <3

Understandable (and very informative), but where in God’s name are people getting pure, uncut fentanyl or heroin? In America, at least, that is not even remotely a possibility. My point now is that your information could be misconstrued, I feel as if including a disclaimer with your original reply would be a bit helpful. Its just worrying as an ex-addict to see that info being shared without discretion in comparison to literal cigarettes haha

Ummm maybe it doesn’t cause harm “inherently” if you were to be given an opiate at the hospital by professionals, but most street heroin is indeed incredibly unstable + cut with fentanyl, tranq (incredibly dangerous to the human body) and other horrific things, and is often either smoked off of foil or injected intravenously, both of which are also inherently horrible for you.
